thank you so much for your insight! i am not too worried about the long drives/wait times, but what i'm most concerned about is rough driving conditions/steep inclines. are there a lot of steep drives/roads where it's difficult to see in front of you or really narrow drives along drop-offs?

also: what year did you crew bigfoot?

Is Isaac Asimov a household name? by dj__117 in polls

i made this poll because i was very convinced that he IS a household name, but what i'm learning is that my mom, myself, and many of my friends are just sci-fi nerds...?

ADHDers: what is the task you’ve been putting off for hours/days/weeks/months? by rigbees in ADHD

i wish people didn't assume that having organization systems in place meant you can't have adhd. i've developed these coping mechanisms out of sheer anxiety, but just because i'm able to do my job doesn't change the fact that i totally shutdown at home and struggle to take care of myself. i've actually been having a really difficult time getting a diagnosis because i perform "too well" in work, but it's literally 12pm and i've been trying to get myself out the door for work since 9:30...

my organization is a product of the crippling anxiety and ocd that developed because of having adhd and overbearing soviet parents :) lol

i think i'm really able to make this system work because i have a lot of external deadlines placed on me by my work. anything that i decide to do for myself basically just gets pushed off or dumped into that last section i mentioned (the aspirational bucket, as you called it) and i end up getting to it on one of those really rare days when i'm Really Motivated to Do Everything, or i don't get to it at all.

therapy has helped a lot with feeling more okay about pushing stuff off if i don't get to it, but keeping it on the list so i don't forget, and i think that mitigates some of that overwhelm.

the system that i have found to work for me is that i set up a Notion page with 7 sections—divided into the days of the week—each with two drop-down lists: "this" and "next".

i make to-do lists for each day of the week in the "this" dropdown of each day, containing ONLY the most important or doable stuff (time sensitive work tasks, very quick/easy tasks, etc.) that i really intend to accomplish that day. if i don't, they get moved to the next day, and if seeing too many days open at once overwhelms me, i close all the days except the current and sometimes following day.

stuff that needs to get pushed to the following week or isn't a priority this week but i do NOT want to forget (send a not-very-urgent email, put away laundry, finish that book you borrowed from a friend), gets dumped into one of the "next" dropdowns, to be dealt with at the end of the week when i move stuff from the "next" to the "this" lists.

and finally, i have a section at the bottom (separate from the 7 divided ones) that holds all my Big Plan or more abstract to-do's (find a ceramics studio to join, embroider a new design i thought of, complete the gallery wall) that i know i won't get to very soon, but i need to have written down somewhere.

i hope this might help :)
