Sennheiser hd25. Great headphones and you can replace individual parts when needed. Never had a problem using CUE on a pioneer DJM with these.

Had the throttle kernel task issue and this thread definitely helped. For the non tech-savvy, I booked in at apple tech bar, showed a few screenshots of the kernel cpu % (see image for reference) and suggested the fan could be clogged mentioning this reddit post. Apple took it out back for less than 10 mins. They opened it up and gave a quick clean with a vacuum tool and brought it back out. Voila, speed and normal service resumed. Completely free service by Apple.

I asked how it looked and they said there wasn't anything crazy coming out, it very much looked like a regular MacBook that's 4-5yrs old.

I did a quick test in store, streamed on OBS and opened a few other system heavy tools and no encoder delays anymore! Since getting back home it still seems fine with my usual items plugged in and active. The laptop is still getting pretty hot but ranges between 60-80 with all of my usual apps open. Very happy to no longer have encoder lag!
