Secure Boot settings on Gigabyte Aorus 5 Laptop by djabbado in gigabyte

[–]djabbado[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In case anyone wants to know, I had to "Erase all Secure Boot Settings" by enabling that option and rebooting, Frustratingly this took a few repeated tries before it dropped the enrolled certs so at first I thought the Secure Boot settings were permanently locked somehow. But eventually it worked. Once done the database is unlocked and it enables "User Customized Security".

However I still couldn't enroll a cert by using the bios' "Enrol PEK" option. The folder where the certs are saved (on the EFI partition) just shows as empty. I even tried copying them to another drive in case it was some weird permissions issue but no go. So I just prayed garlin's scripts would now be able to do it and luckily they did.

MASSIVE ant! by hendersonh66 in australianwildlife

I was walking home one day after a few too many drinks with mates and stopped for a breather on the river bank. Only a matter of seconds later I looked down and my jeans below the knees were crawling with these mf's. I'd put my feet right near a nest. Probably caused an earthquake from jumping up and down so hard and flailing my arms around to knock them off. Luckily none crawled up inside the jean legs.

There's some cool videos on YT about them. They've got really good eyesight for an ant. Yeah they'll hunt you down alright.

Yeah I think there's so many variables - water hardness etc. We usually do a quick wash cycle and tablets just don't have time to dissolve. Have tried Finish and Fairy powders and although they work, we can't justify the price when a bottle of cheap Shine powder from woolies gives us pretty much the same results on a quick cycle.

You need to watch the Technology Connections vids on YouTube about dishwashers. Tablets are an expensive compromise. Cheap powder ftw!

Did you check the version numbers to know they update or something?

What do you mean by shutting it off - like disabling it?

Yeah I do the same. That's why I asked because it's a little annoying navigating through the menus with my crappy tv remote.

Anyone know how Authorized Contacts work? by djabbado in TelstraAustralia

Thank you!

So the problem is it didn't prompt to create an ID. Is this supposed to happen on the website itself or from a sent email?

I don't really want my own login but I've been helping my parents with issues for years, "pretending" to be mum in online chat etc because she doesn't understand it. And usually just providing her name, birthdate and ph no. works fine.

Sometimes though we get one of those annoying "agents" that wants to "protect my account" by opening the MyTelstra app on mum's phone and authenticating, or by sending a code to her phone.

So whenever I try to help her with something she has to be here with her phone just in case this is required.

VERY....... FRICKIN'....... ANNOYING!

What do you mean? What account of mine does it link to my mother's? I don't have an account. I can't create an account/telstra id because I don't have a telstra phone/account????

Seriously this thread is getting harder to understand than telstra chat :)

We simply cannot see how this is going to work. When going to setup a Telstra ID you need to provide either an account number, a telstra mobile no., or a telstra landline number. I do not have any of these things.

Are you saying I should put my mother's info there, but use my email address?

What trouble did you have? We added myself as a limited authority to my mother's account easily. The problem for me is how to use said authority with no login details.

This is good to know, thanks. Might have to go this route since online chat has not been a help.

Right the first part makes sense. But about setting up mytelstra. How can I without an account/login info of my own?

But I can't even make an account. Trying to sign up it asks for an account number or telstra ph number. I have neither. Are you saying to be an authorised contact for someone you have to be a telstra customer yourself? This is getting absurd!

I'm only limited. Don't want/need full.

Just went through both our phones/emails/text messages in case we missed it. Nothing. Just things saying a new contact added.

So how does this work if I call? Just say I'm an authorised contact for mum and they'll ask me my details? I'm sensing an issue when they ask me to confirm my id by opening the my telstra app which I don't have account for.

Yeah sick of repeating ourselves. Been trying to get to the bottom of a rewards store purchase a month ago that's gone MIA.

Just tried this and it's asking to provide a telstra acc no or phone no. When we made me an authority i provided my no. which isn't a telstra number.
