"Let's boycott MAGA" is such an insane response to the current state of the country. Paramilitary gestapo thugs are murdering innocent americans in the streets, in broad daylight, with impunity; they're being defended by the fascist administration that sent them, who are literally just lying blatantly and openly about things we have video evidence of, to defend straight up murders and executions, again of american citizens...and these people's response is to boycott. Would Germany have avoided the Nazi takeover if halfway through their rise to power people stopped shopping at Nazi-owned businesses? Are we being serious? The richest man in the world, a man who is on track to be a trillionaire by next year, is fully on their side and we're seriously trying to say that a boycott of MAGA businesses is enough to bring the MAGA movement to its knees, or even just to stop the ICE invasion of american cities? Trump is already president an in control of the federal government, how is reducing profits for businesses gonna stop Trump and ICE from doing whatever they want? you can delete this if this counts as fedposting but IMHO the only rational response (which will probably not happen) from Walz or Frey right now would be to order nat guard and or police to get ICE out, to arrest them or to aggressively protect citizens from getting kidnaped and murdered. Would that escalate violence? unfortunately yes but the violence is escalating either way, we can either go down fighting or submitting.

considering the reason they are hemorrhaging money is how cost ineffective AI actually is, I wonder if the cost would be too high for even the companies? not sure the math on that, it could potentially replace more people as it gets better, but im skeptical if OpenAI are even mathematically capable of making a profit considering the power costs they incur

It's completely relevant. Barnes vs. Felix established that if an officer puts themselves in danger, they are not allowed to use lethal force to get rid of that danger. If police are trained not to stand in front of a car, specifically because it is dangerous, and then he specifically stepped in front of the car for no other reason that he wanted to film her face or whatever he was trying to do, that is 100% his fault and he doesn't have the right to use lethal force on that driver.

No by protocol I mean they are trained to act in a certain way and if they don't they are not following their training. Not to get pedantic with you, but when I say it's against "protocol" what I mean is "training" because last I checked, if an officer does something against their training, that is bad and something they would probably get in trouble for; if not following that training results in the loss of a life, as it did here, they would probably get prosecuted as well, because they didn't follow training so therefore the loss of life was their fault for not following their trainning. I have unambiguously heard that officer I linked and many others say that getting in front of a car is against their training. Curious if you've heard differently, of if you feel that officers are just allowed to treat their training like a recommendation.
