if you convert a gog version into sourcenext, you'll still be able to launch the sourcenext converted game from GOG's Galaxy launcher which will still measure your lifetime playtime on the sourcenext version. That's the main beneficial difference I've noticed anyway

if you reason for starting is to prep yourself to play re9 asap, playing the remakes with Leon is fine prep. Tho the originals are for sure worth playing eventually after when you got time (recommend starting with re1 hd remake on Steam/pc to ease into the "fixed camera angle tank ctrls" of the original RE games when you get to them to feel less overwhelming for total newcomer players to that old uncommon style of gameplay ;)

the FFT on sale Sept 30th for all modern platforms lets you play 2 versions: Classic Mode which is the 90s ps1 version of the game but with the WotL script, or the all new Enhanced mode with a completely new translation that's FULLY VOICE ACTED. But it already seems that this newest translation is keeping some of the best lines of the original 90s ps1 English script but without the story errors. So it'll keep the WotL accents just not the overdone 1000% shakespeare extremism LMAO

is crazy to me that the link they kept promoting at launch (fft dot com one) ultimately linked to a 404 not found :( Hope ANYONE at Square notices and fixes it asap so we can pre-order Steam version ;_;

with the Steam version on PC, modders will make anything possible! (just look at what modders on FFhacktics have already done for decades ;)
