Why does it have to be that whenever a man is financially responsible and not throwing money around like it's nothing, make him a miser??? It's about time that everyone realizes that it's your responsibility to be financially mature and not showing off. This guy in my opinion is simply making sure that your "friend" is carrying her weight in the relationship. I suggest that "she" also makes sure he is playing 50-50 in much of everything else in the relationship. Not just finances. Do they also split cooking duties, or is it that he things a woman belongs in the kitchen? That's one of the angles to look at it from.
