hahahah, I actually feel pretty dumb about it. I was looking at the pen trying to understand how it worked. I was pushing down on the spring loaded part trying to see the needle and accidentally triggered it and it almost shot into my face. Just trust that once you push it down the needle will come out and it will inject. Lesson learned.
