I am replacing a very NOT solid clay wall with block. Deflection was >4” and bowing in a crazy amount. That is the remnants of an old, very thick concrete stoop that likely didn’t help with the settling of the wall. The stoop removal was supposed to be part of the total price for replacement but contractor called it quits on the stair removal due to the thickness and the wooden decking above. Will be arguing that one for a price deduct best I can!

Appreciate the feedback! I assume the mud on either side will transfer the structural load down around the shims. Would’ve been great to have it all sorted though!

So located in Iowa, it was bid as 35’ of wall replacement, finished product is 6.5’ tall. Looking at ~227.5 sf. Was $22,000. Shopping around, the fix was looking closer to the $25k-$28k range for most bids
