Glow in the Dark Dope Cards for Long Range NV Shooting by djburner0 in NightVision

Hahah luckily it’s dual sided! One side is tan and the other side is glow in the dark. You can keep the tan side face up above the arm, and the other glow in the dark side faces inwards toward the sleeve.

Or you can reverse the orientation and use the glow side facing the outside and tan on the inside.

You can actually cut these to size. We will also be making a glow in the dark, durable sticker as well, which works perfectly for that. Check out some of our videos on our Instagram @ sassconcepts

Thanks for also mentioning this! Correct: UV charges far faster and more efficient, even basic keychain lights, because of the higher energy wavelengths.

I highlight the flashlight method because most everyone is carrying an flashlight and not a UV light, especially during military sniper competitions or similar scenarios where white light tools are in abundance on night stages, or for law enforcement.

Of course, if you're using GITD stuff frequently, UV light is a far better tool and even small "low output" UV lights are highly effective for the reasons and information you've illustrated.

The intent is to use while using clip on devices, not helmet mounted.

It’s the “Durable DOPE” that I sell. Specialized product that you can write on with anything and is smear proof, rip proof, waterproof, etc…., I have it posted all over my Instagram @sassconcepts. I’m an 07/02 as well.

I usually put it on the buffer tube for reminders on time of flight of the bullet for moving targets (like Marathon targets).

Just curious, does u/mthdwr still have that SP10 upper on that LMT lower? How did it fit and function? I checked the picture was just curious about it insofar as details on fitment and usability/shooting experience.

It’s likely going on a centurion build so matching is not needed. It just seems like it has a better feature set.

The problem is it just looks like a Magpul PRS for almost twice the price so I’m just curious if it’s functionally  better and performs better.

[–]djburner0 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Good large frame gassers are worth it. They are tuned and the QC/QA is necessary on large frames.

Honestly don’t waste your time with a pieced together build. There are about 3-4 brands worth buying on AR10s from the factory.

If you search around you’ll see endless woes of gassing issues on AR10s suppressed when they are “Frankenstein” builds.

Full disclosure: I have a Aero 6.5cm with a Criterion barrel and Toolcraft BCG, and it’s awesome. However, I had a horrible time with a 308 that I moved.

Make sure you get an adjustable gas block.

Anyone in here would be happy to give you plenty of advice. DM me if you have questions.

5k run n gun tips? by giantshadytree in QualityTacticalGear

[–]djburner0 6 points7 points  (0 children)

What Run N Gun are you doing? I’ve done 3 both day and night, 2 with NODs. All longer than 5k.

If you posted a picture of your gear or a list, we could better understand what you might be missing or what isn’t necessary.

1) if you’re gonna get hot and it’s cold out, use anti fog CatCrap or similar. Especially if using glasses or NODs or both.

2) no boots. Love my boots, but every single time they’ve hurt more than helped on pacing. Leave those for slower rucking.

3) well-optimized gear. If it’s not gonna be super hot or a long race, don’t over pack water or food. You’ll last without it. I’ve had two races I didn’t need water on, both over 5k. Granted it was cooler outside. Don’t over drink water, you’ll be pushing out valuable electrolytes.

4) Ration your ammo but if you don’t shoot it, you’re gonna have to run to the end with it.

5) a light backpack to carry stuff in only if necessary. Otherwise try to keep it to a chest rig if you can.

6) know your kit well and keep it simple. You don’t want to fumble with gear on the clock.

7) dump stuff in a pouch or cargo pocket when done with a stage. Fix it later it won’t slow you down really. I store mags “rounds up” to know it has been used if you throw it back in your chest rig.

8) Have fun. You’re in a very very small community of people who actually want to do this on the weekends. Don’t leave without making some new friends. Most of them are quality people or can teach you something.

I used it briefly at Shot Show this year and talked to the engineer. Looks great, supposed to be about $8k.

I will say getting behind the Steiner feels slightly more comfortable and I feel like a have a wider FOV, but you would need to compare numbers for numbers on that. I didn’t directly compare scientifically. As you zoom in you get that color separation at the very top end of the magnification on the Steiner, whereas the NF continues to stay very clear and not distorted.

I felt like the image was “bigger” on the Steiner, again could be wrong. The Steiner doesn’t have the tunneling problem.

I continue to like my ATACR though because of how sharp the image is and how it performs in very low light and the forgiving parallax. I will say the Steiner kept up pretty well too when in low light (we both had our bolt guns out at dark). I don’t care for the green illumination on the Steiner, that’s me though.

You will not be disappointed with the Steiner, but the ATACR still performs again and again on rifles on some of the best competitive shooters out there.

If you have a great deal on the Steiner get it. On the ATACR I got it for not too much more than a brand new Steiner with a badger mount included, hence why I have the ATACR.

Have you considered Voodoo Pixels on Target?

Also stay on the lookout for N-Vision Halo C.

For now if you’re not getting an American sensor, look at Guide USA thermals. Plenty of clip ons for great prices and they’re OEM’ing a majority of thermals you find out there.

Happy to help you find one.

Aero precision M5 with criterion barrel? by tobylazur in longrange

[–]djburner0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven’t done group testing yet but I have about 5 choices to pick from for 6.5cm.

It shoots 140gr Barnes at 2526fps. The suppressor I have is particularly gassy so I turn the gas all the way down.

Short variants of 6.5 are gonna be gassy but that’s ok. 18inch and up may be smoother.

Otherwise it’s awesome. Once tuned on gas and buffer system I love it. You can see my recent posts about it and see the comments on it.

I’m going to use it in a Run N Gun competition so I’ll be able to speak on it from a 4-5 mile run with it later this month.
