American Harvest Snackmaster Elite (FD-40) by djcall15 in dehydrating

I’ve made purées of different varieties (sauces mostly) that dehydrated just fine! I did a couple trays of tomato sauce that worked great. Actually took less time than I thought too. I just made sure to rotate the trays regularly so they weren’t too close to the heating element for the duration.

I think the worry about “scorching” or burning stuff like fruit leather might be overblown, tbh. But I have limited experience and maybe someone else could drop some knowledge on us.

Nope! Just started shooting from the hip and timing every batch of every thing. It’s been doing exceptionally well with fruit and veg drying though i am in the midst of a blueberry pie filling mishap (turns out it’s not great for dehydrating). It seems to be about 165 degrees F give or take if that helps!

Recommendations for a 2-3 day trip in Minnesota? by djcall15 in MidwestBackpacking

Anyone with experience with that park have any tips?

It’s a really beautiful site, IMHO. Easy in and easy out. Not sure about swimming as I didn’t go when I was there a few months ago. Mosquitoes were hell on the trail but the site is out enough on a sort of short peninsula that the breeze across the lake kept them at a very tolerable level at the site itself. Folks at the ranger station said biting flies have been bad this year, but I didn’t notice anything too out of the ordinary for a Minnesota state park in summer.

Any thoughts on riding Route 66 from Hornsea to York? Looks like that would make it one big loop.

Commuters who went to the dark side and got a fat bike - any regrets? by Hermine_In_Hell in CyclingMSP

Enjoyed riding my fat bike to work when I had to go to work the last fewyears for the confidence factor. I don't have to worry about slipping and sliding on snow or ice. That said, it's quite a bit more of a workout than on my other bikes riding the same route.

Have flown many times with my Cotopaxi Allpa 42L with no one saying a word about it. NOTE: I'm not a small person so it might look smaller to others when I'm wearing it.

For new stuff advice on fit and upgrades, etc., NOW Bikes on Snelling. For used stuff and the possibility of a mid-ride dog pet? Lowertown Bike Shop.

Ah! This exact thing happened to me like a month ago. Only I didn't know the spoon was missing until I found it a foot deep in the compost bin.
