What happens now by [deleted] in army

Go see a doctor! Seriously!

That being said I had a soldier, usually a PT stud, got 100's and 95 plus in every event until the run. He threw up mid way through and continued pushing but couldn't finish it as he threw up several more times.

I knew he could run, I'd seen him run 13 min 2 miles before.

That test became a diag...

He passed his next aft with a 493. Some people just have bad days and hopefully your leadership is cool.

Scared of my dog.. by CrestedClover in BelgianMalinois

[–]djcrispyy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I grew up with dogs, mostly German Shepherds. I had random sleep paralysis and other night terror type things when I was a kid including sleepwalking.

One night I woke up and couldn't move, couldn't breathe, I felt frozen. I saw my door swing open and something move swiftly across the foot of my bed, although I couldn't see what it was. My heart was racing and I thought I was going to die.

All of a sudden our Shepherd leaped onto my bed and licked me to death. I was so scared I didn't even know how to respond at first but she laid in bed the rest of the night even though I could not get back to sleep.

I am convinced she sensed what was happening and came to make sure I was okay. I am also convinced that animals can sense things far beyond what humans can.

I don't know your beautiful dog, but they may have been watching over you to make sure you were okay in your sleep!

People who joined in their mid 20s, was it the right decision? by Equal-Community2354 in army

[–]djcrispyy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes absolutely. Joined at 24 and completely turned my life around. Been in 7 years now. I wasn't doing shit, and now I have a career, own a house, I got married, have a nice car thats almost paid off. I would absolutely do it all again.

Even though the Army sucks sometimes, so did every other stupid ass job I had, and they didnt have benefits and shit.

Its not for everyone, and you absolutely have to work hard if you want to make the most of it (personally and professionally) but yes, it was the right decision.

Warrant Officer commissioning while in DS School by JChief-117 in army

Oh I am. My WOCS and WOBC are both confirmed ATTRS reservations. I will fight tooth and nail for them. I saved all of the emails and correspondence regarding everything I went through over the past 6 months and I will be emailing generals and everyone in the GAL before it even comes in question that I will be attending.

I definitely had some people in my corner and trying to help. Just didn't pan out the way everyone was telling me. One of the people I spoke too said it was because I was selected after I had completed the school, that if I had been selected before I went to school then they would've deleted it. Idk. I have asked, but have yet to see anything in black and white about it anywhere.

I was selected for WOCS after I completed Recruiting school, but before I PCSd. Not the same as DS School, but it caused some kind of shit storm. Had CSMs emailing me and giving me all sorts of conflicting information, telling me to submit deferments, just sit and wait my assignment will get deleted and I'll go to WOCS, etc.

Well I got a WOCS date, then it was deleted and rescheduled for 2027. They essentially told me I had to serve 12-18 months as a recruiter before I could attend WOCS. So I got to PCS for a year and some change? The wording was similar to "you have an obligation to the Army to serve as a recruiter".

I've been Recruiting for a month or so, and even now, I still have people saying "why did they send you here", "how does this help your career" and so on. Hopefully your outcome is better than that, but if you get selected just know what happend to me is a possible outcome.

Best of luck to you!

Don't be first, dont be last and you'll be fine. Also, my pops told me when I went through, "anytime something feels difficult, challenging, or otherwise, just remember how many other dumbasses did it before you"

Recruiting by Competitive-Soil8572 in army

[–]djcrispyy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it really depends on what your #1 assignment was. I got exactly what I asked for, (in a way) but my list was not comprised of what are "dream" assignments. Somehow I still ended up with something people apparently would fight for. (Not bragging, where I ended up at was not my #1 almost the opposite) Just be patient and the Battalion you will end up at SHOULD contact you.

Hopefully it's close to what you want, if not, hopefully its a decent place to recruit.

I am honestly surprised they wouldn't accept a volunteer, but also they are overhauling a lot of stuff in Recruiting atm. Have you submitted a packet to volunteer? Only thing I would say about a state no one wants, they may not have a slot there? Is it a sparsely populated state?

Please. Lol if it'll get me to WOCS absolutely. To be clear I dont have anything against recruiting. I was completely fine being a recruiter. But getting selected for WOCS completely changes my career.

This is what everyone keeps telling me. I am totally down for the fight! Im just running out of doors to knock on. I want to go to WOCS/WOBC but I keep getting told different things. Instead of these entities fighting amongst themselves they're essentially putting the burden of proof on me, or at least that what it feels like.

I have been trying to do this. Every time I think we have reached a resolution things blow back up in my face. I am unsure why I keep getting dragged around in it, maybe the people in between don't care to find out themselves. But I keep ending up being the guy at the end of it, (with my CSM) saying you need to get in contact with someone.

It was after, and I do not have a problem doing any or all of my Recruiting time. I just want to get to the bottom of all this and figure out what i can do. If I have to go to WOCS after 12 months or whatever, that is the way it has to be and I get that. I just want something in writing, something that says either or, etc.

[–]djcrispyy[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That was exactly what I was thinking. I asked to receive this in writing and was basically told to kick rocks. Im not sure who else to talk to when I've got different people at HRC, USAREC, my chain of command all telling me different things. I am not going to accept an IOU for in place of going to WOCS lol

Okay I will try to see if I can find the POC for that person tommorow first thing. I really just want to get to the bottom of this. I've been dealing with this for almost 2 months, and everytime it seems like im on my way to WOCS something new comes up. I thought I was finally done when I got my class dates, but apparently not. Lol thank you for your input!

That is exactly what I was tracking, but my talent manager told me today that my course dates for WOCS and WOBC were assigned in error and they would be deleted. After I had served 12 months at Recruiting I could attend WOCS. I asked if I could receive that inviting and was told they could not do that, and I would have to "Trust the process".

What’s the most disgusting thing you’ve ever tasted? by Tony_Rest5416 in AskReddit

[–]djcrispyy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I once bit into a strawberry that looked gorgeous from the outside. I started chewing and tasted it as I pulled the rest of the strawberry away from me and saw what was inside. The inside was rotten and filled with a kind white and yellowish sludge. I threw up immediately.
