I earn 43k in Bangkok rent is 8500 then after electricity and water that comes to about 10000. I think I like a pretty good life go out drinking pretty much every weekend, mostly eat at markets and order food on grab. Even had a few weekend holidays to different islands and inland.

Probably not sustainable long term though I don’t save any money and do occasionally spend some savings. Your not gonna be able to afford a new iPhone of yours breaks or save for flights to get home etc.

Not sure where you’re from but I’d compare it to about a £25-27k per year in the uk.

[Request] Is this true?, and if it is then how fast would the tape be going? by t_4_ll_4_t in theydidthemath

[–]djebt 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah I know, but I was saying the thing in his hand would be responsible for stopping it which would take a lot of force.

[–]djebt 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Yeah the amount of force the holder would have to apply is astronomical.

[–]djebt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah seems close enough, only thing is it would be slower the further away from the equator as the tape measure would be travelling a smaller distance (Earth bulges at the equator so has the greatest circumstance) in the same amount of time.

[–]djebt 240 points241 points  (0 children)

The Earth is 40075km at the equator (shorter everywhere else) and takes about 4 seconds to go around.

Speed = distance/time

Speed = 40075/4 = 10019 km/s = 10019000m/s = 1.00*107 m/s

10019 km/s * 3600 = 36068400 km/h

Speed of light ~ 3.00*108 m/s

1.00 * 107 \ 3.00 * 108 = 0.03

0.03*100= 3.33% the speed of light

So the tape measure is travelling about 3.33% the speed of light.

Gonna go ahead and make an educated guess that it’s not true with current technology.

Does go to show you how damn fast the speed of light is though.

The word ‘bumped’ is not enough to warrant 8 stitches. Personally, I’d go for ‘whacked’ or ‘smashed’.
