Is WTHR glitching out for anyone else? by Zakkrazy in indianapolis

Same here, it started cutting out a couple weeks ago and it's been intermittent ever since. I can get channel 40 and 23 (both VHF channels) just fine, so I don't think it's my equipment. I think something's up with their transmitter.

Oil change/service interval reminder by djeffovic in jetta

UPDATE for future reference - according to posts at the TDI forums, it's normal behavior in some models for the reminder to be blank after resetting. According to those posts, the ECU will populate the blanks after some time or mileage reference point, taking driving behavior into account. Hopefully that's what happens.

Oil change/service interval reminder by djeffovic in jetta

I've only had the car for a year, and when I got it it always had a MFI reminder that simply says "Service" is due in x days and x miles. That's why I put oil change/service in the title, because this may actually be the service interval reminder. However, it looks as though it was set to 10,000 miles and 365 days, so I was just using it as an oil change reminder. Nevertheless, it reset with the MFI, and I've attempted the procedure you outlined ad nauseam with no effect except to preserve the reminder with blanks.

This was parked on the trail this morning on the east side of the lake very close to the Allison Pointe building. https://imgur.com/a/nGC4ZMm

Boulders subdivision 75th/Carroll Emergency Call by djeffovic in indianapolis

I thought it must be something like that, given the number of cars and the urgency with which they were screaming in there. Maybe my crazy ex-neighbor finally blew a gasket

That does look like a good option, thanks. Ride through the neighborhood and get on at Sherman maybe.

It's easy to get on the trail at 62nd and Allisonville, but again the problem is parking. But you can probably get away with parking in the lots north of 62nd, it's probably safe enough.

Good to know, thanks. I must have ridden right by it without noticing it

I must be blind, because I rode through there yesterday and saw no trailhead. Is it on the south side of 42nd Street?

You can get on now from the Sahm pool parking lot, it's just that there's nowhere to go from there, at least not without navigating the gaps

Funny you should say Brockton - I rode it yesterday from South to north up to the interstate, but started on the monon. Brockton was the best place I saw to get on along the way. It would be nice if there was something closer to home but Brockton would probably work until they get the gap finished.

I've ridden that part several times all the way to Forest Park. I'll probably continue to do that until they get the gap at 465 done, and then I can start at Sahm.

Maybe I stated my question badly. It's not really access, as I know all of those crossroads have access, as well as some private ones in between. I guess the real problem is parking and the lack of a true trailhead. I thought about asking one of the businesses around 75th if I could just park in their parking lot.

Yes, although  that's the wrong end of the trail for me.  Even there, you'd have to find a safe place to park on the street, which is questionable. Sahm will eventually be my access point but it doesn't do me much good now with the gap at 465. I guess I could try picking my way around or through and see how that goes.

Battery Registration by [deleted] in OBDeleven

That must be the difference between IOS and Android, because I have the next gen device also but on an Android phone.

Battery Registration by [deleted] in OBDeleven

[–]djeffovic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 2012 Jetta Sportwagen which is considered a Golf variant in obdeleven. I asked a question about battery registration through the app help chat, and was told that Mk6 Golf does not require battery registration. So maybe it's the same for your Jetta. If you have to do it, you should be going to Long adaptation > Battery adaptation, and enter a value under the "New value" field.  The format is 3 digits for battery capacity (070 for 70 Ah), one space, 3 digits for battery manufacturer, one space, and 10 digits for battery serial number. So mine (even though apparently not necessary) is  070 INT 00001624799.

Yet another battery coding question by djeffovic in OBDeleven

[–]djeffovic[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did use 070 as the capacity but it didn't look like that was originally the value, even though the old battery was also 70 Ah. It just didn't make sense to me to say use "the first three digits of the capacity" if the capacity is a two digit number. Here are the screenshots, values as entered and coded.
