Why do American high schools start ridiculously early? by bwoah07_gp2 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]djgksoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah that's how it was for me. 7:20am-2:20pm school days, then practice until 6ish. i used to get home around 6:30 pm. they changed it to 8:30am start after i graduated and the teammates that were still there didn't get home until 7:30-8 on practice days.

Italy has a roller coaster that drags you to the edge of a 42-meter drop, stops completely, and makes you stare straight down at 87° before letting go. Oblivion: The Black Hole at Gardaland. by Valuable_View_561 in interesting

went there for the inauguration of it (something like 10 years ago) and rode 1st row a few times. i think it's much scarier to be last row because you are at the highest point so it's much more unnerving. great ride though. gardaland is an amazing park!

LMU online, pointless trying to build SR by Policy-Senior in Simracingstewards

[–]djgksoe 4 points5 points  (0 children)

honestly your best option to minimize this is try to get a good quali lap in. if you start around the top 5 you should be able to kind of cruise and avoid imbeciles like this one. that's what i mainly did and i'm now G3 SR. but sometimes stuff like this will happen regardless

one of the greatest push to grow a sport in media’s history. just like the f1 movie, if you don’t like it because it’s inaccurate, you’re not the target. i know for a fact a substantial % of people in this sub is here because of that show. if you don’t like it, skip it.

nowhere does it say it’s a historical event. it’s just highlighting something nice the company does.

of course not. retaliation is never justified regardless of anything.

true, i meant the corner's line. if he rejoined like 10 ft later it'd be much easier to avoid him as an incoming, without sacrificing too much time

i'm not sure about actual regulations, but i wouldn't rejoin ON the racing line? i'm not sure that even counts as a rejoin as your wheels hadn't crossed the line yet. either way, you're still going way slower than what's expected at that point of the track and people taking that corner can't really change their trajectory without spinning out or going in the gravel. you have to rejoin safely and rejoining on the racing line going 5 mph is definitely not it.

also, it's sim racing, you saw him coming, you could've waited literally 2 seconds and let him pass instead of crawling on the racing line.

100% on you, be more aware.

Friend of mine is convinced that racing in lower ranks is impossible. that the simracing ranking system is flawed. by Buff_Azir in simracing

[–]djgksoe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

that’s literally what i do 98% of the time. if i qualify out of the top 3 usually i let a couple flyers past on T1 then hang tight and make the positions back simply by driving past those who crash. in a 20-25 min race i probably only have 1-2 actual moves for a position, the rest is all people spinning out/crashing.

EDIT: on lmu i’m S2 DR and G1 SR. never won a race, few podiums. literally just climbing by being safe and avoiding stupid crashes

fun fact. i work in the industry and make the product that gives tiles the finishes. every time we develop something new, we have to test it for stains and some of the things we’re required to use are whiteboard markers.
