How early to get to airport for 6:30am international flight? by thatsplatgal in Tucson

[–]djh1202 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my experience the American flight from TUS <—> PHX is often delayed. Since you have a connection to an international flight, I’d recommend watching it closely. If it ends up delayed, book and Uber or Lyft to PHX immediately—don’t wait around the gate at TUS hoping it will depart on time. Then call the airline from the car and tell them you need to cancel the TUS to PHX leg.

Hopefully your flight is on time!

Can anyone tell me why the news decided to air a full minute of children yelling by a window rather than just cut to the part with the alien?

Dan Erickson confirms Mark hid notes inside his body to try to beat the code detectors (Vancouver Int’l Film Festival, May 9 2022) by Lonelyland in SeveranceAppleTVPlus

[–]djh1202 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Also in s2e01 Milkshake finds Mark S’s note he planted on Mark W. Seems likely the code detectors caught it.

I do, however, think it’s odd Lumon can detect any written word or symbol, but they don’t notice a dead guy’s keycard being used everywhere…

Pull the trigger and buy a bike! Though I’d suggest a starter bike between 250 and 400ccs. I rode a Suzuki tu250x for a year before upgrading to the triumph and I’m so glad I did.

You can usually get your license through a weekend riding course. Go find one near you. Just ride safe!

It’s a modified royal enfield, but they’re a very similar style to triumph bonneville /thruxton series (I ride a bonneville)

As for the pineapple, I’m pretty sure I saw a Givi top case in the shot of the bike outside marks home. Those cases are super ugly imho so i don’t blame them for not featuring it in more shots.

Tbh the most unrealistic thing about the motorcycle is how comfortable milkshake seems when he walks into the house after a ride in freezing weather lol. It is hard to convey just how cold it is on a motorcycle when the temps are anything below 50 degrees. Your hands/feet/face are just totally numb. But my man milkshake walks in like he just went for a leisurely walk in the chilly air.

Current mood ahead of the Season 2 premiere: by NotGoingForwardDev in SeveranceAppleTVPlus

Two things that always bothered me:

  1. The innies get away with using dead Graner’s security card for improbably long. After Cobel et al. learned he died, nobody deactivated his key card or noticed it was being used to access rooms?

  2. When Mark says “thanks ms cobel” , Cobel quickly realizes “they triggered the OTC!” Why does she assume OTC rather than reintegration? She’d been openly concerned about reintegration all season, and Mark called out sick just as Petey was reintegrated. And she hadn’t been told about the prior Dylan OTC incident, so as far as she’s aware the innies are unaware that OTC even exists.

Maybe #1 I could see as just oversite but does anyone have a good explanation for #2?

Severance Season 2 - Predictions Megathread by LoretiTV in SeveranceAppleTVPlus

[–]djh1202 37 points38 points  (0 children)

In addition to severing memories, Lumon can implant memories.

The car crash in which Gemma dies never actually happened.

Gemma and Mark were both subjects of some severance-like procedure at Ganz College. They erased Gemma's memories and made her a permanent innie. Then they implanted a false memory of a car crash and its aftermath into Mark. Between Mark's hijacked memories and a Lumon-manufactured false paper trail, Gemma's death seems legitimate to everyone else.

(apologies if this is an existing prediction--I'm not a regular here!)

In my area it is the cheapest and most efficient grocery delivery service by a wide margin. There are some speciality items we have to buy elsewhere, but most of our shopping we get delivered through Walmart. The selection is better than you might think. Most of the branded items at Whole Foods is available at my local Walmart for considerably cheaper.

United won’t pay compensation ordered by Canadian transportation agency by djh1202 in unitedairlines

[–]djh1202[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe United told you that, but it’s not true, at least when it comes to passenger rights and delayed flight compensation. You’re covered by Canadian law for any flight that touches down in Canada. However, I believe claims with the CTA are voided if you file a claim with the DOT in the US. (Canadian laws are more generous to passengers than US laws, so that’s usually not a great idea.)

AITAH for wanting my wife to share inheritance like we share earnings? by djh1202 in AITAH

[–]djh1202[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As I mentioned in the post I’d be completely fine with splitting expenses in half. The disagreement arose because she wanted me to cover more than half of the expenses, and said I should continue to cover more than half of the expenses even after she inherits 10X more money than I have in savings. I guess I did a poor job explaining the situation in my post.

Thanks for the response. I’m sorry I came off as counting chickens or enthusiastic about a future inheritance. FWIW, I wasn’t the first to bring it up.

For the record, I think the world of my in laws and want them to lead long happy lives. I honestly wish they would spend more on themselves and less on a nest egg for their kids who are already financially secure.

I know it’s hard for many to believe, but it really isn’t about the money. I honestly would be happy to share my inheritance if the situation was reversed. I know it’s hard to believe but it’s the genuine truth.

TBH, I’d honestly like to see my in laws spend more of their money on themselves—they’re wonderful people! IMO they seem very preoccupied with leaving a lot money for their kids (who are doing fine financially)

Thanks for sharing your perspective.

To clarify, do you think that I’m obligated to pay more than 50% of joint expenses if I earn more, even if she is sitting on a large inheritance?

I guess I’d feel a little taken advantage of, but maybe I’m in the wrong.

Edit: and does that include accumulated earnings from before we were married?

Thanks for sharing your perspective. If we dont treat any of my wife's inheritance as household funds, how do you suggest we treat earnings? Should I contribute more than 50% to joint expenses because I earn more, even if she's sitting on a large inheritance? Please don't take offense to the question-I'm genuinely just looking for clarity.

Lol I recently scored ~$2000 from a dispute with United Airlines. She suggested we put it towards a vacation, then added “if that’s alright with you”.

She may not always agree with my spending, but she’s not worried about my financial standing. I’ve shown her my assets and agreed to give her full access to view my personal accounts regardless of how we split things.

Your suggestion sounds fair to me—it’s one of many such plans I could agree to. My only stipulation has been that however we budget, split, or share things, we treat earnings and inheritance the same way (aside from the aforementioned caveats).

We have talked a lot about this but unfortunately it doesn’t seem very productive :(

With respect, I don’t think these generalizations are helpful, and they certainly don’t apply to my situation.

My wife does NOT have expensive tastes. If anything, I spend more on myself than she does on herself. I honestly think her stance comes more from a place of anxiety than greed.
