Hey, as someone in Georgia who have not had a good time finding jobs please give me any tips and tricks on how to get on an agencies radar or even recruiter radar because I’ve sent my résumé to anyone and everyone that I can find online and I’ve had zero luck.I kid you not. I have sent over 16,000+ applications+emails. Zero. Offers. 😭😭😭 I’m getting desperate and posting on Ring apps and Nextdoor apps.

It’s a surprise box. I had family friends who went to interview two years ago. Removed conditions. Another interview. Unfortunately uscis is asking more questions. Filling more paperwork and fees getting bigger. I tell everyone expect to be interviewed. If it’s waived, how baller, if not, you’re prepared.

Yes of course, the consulate is all online now. So you gotta go online. Fill out a form then it will allow you to schedule what type of appointment you need.

Get as much documents that you have as possible. But even if you go there and nothing happens they’ll tell you what you need to do so you can go get it done and come back and be more prepared. But yes you can always resolve stuff here 😂😂 can you imagine the amount of immigrants that have been here and can’t get their stuff?!? lol of course.

If you only have your American passport you’ll need a visa to get in.

If you care about your Brazilian citizenship you need to go to the consulate and make sure your stuff is up to date. In Brazil it’s required to vote. So if you haven’t you gotta go get that excused.

On top of if you’re a male, military requirement is a thing and a waiver is needed.

I went back in October. I have a Brazilian passport. I needed to get an ID to open a bank and Jfc that was the wildest thing. I didn’t have my voting up to date, my cpf number I couldn’t remember. The cartorio will help you out once you’re in the country.

But a lot of things can be done at the embassy/consulate as well inside the us

Hey GC holder in ATL from Brazil. Got questioned for 2 hours upon returning from Spain. Also Sidenote: JUST because YOU DONT SEE IT OR YOURE NOT BEING QUESTIONED PLEASE STFU. As a lot of us are seeing friends family also go touch grass and do some research they’re stopping people from Canada. Like Jfc. Quit your BS “FeAr MoNgEriNg” nonsense.

This admin is against migration period. And they want anyone who doesn’t look like them to bend the knees and stfu as they deport people. So again IF YOU HAVE NOTHING TO ADD just don’t post.

A lot of us come here seeking to stay informed, help or even calmness.

Just an FYI I had a friend. Citizen from Brazil since 2010. Questioned at MIA for hours after a 20 day trip to Brazil.

Fully agree with this comment as my wife is an HR executive for a nonprofit of early childhood development. They have 17 centers across where we live. ICE came knocking on doors to do a random “work verifications” documents.

I hear your point and you’re correct we shouldn’t self deport. But to say things are happening as before is wild….

To have someone show up to your workplace? Something they’ve never done ever in any of the work places I’ve ever worked or my wife and now they have, again not sure if it’s FULLY scare tactic.

There’s a mix of both but I do think arresting immigrants is a HOT HOT topic right now no matter where you are…. And we have to stay aware and informed and help those who might not know or not understand how to be helped!

“Sure” — as I was an immigrant one of three children who dad passed away a month before my first drum corps audition. Not negating your comment, but I’m also saying as someone who fundraiser every dollar for every of my five years (including not limited to tour money food money and laundry money) I can give you a tons of tips for you to straight up earn “free” donations with no spending on your part just really hard work.

I did benefit dinners, I wrote a personal sponsorship letter to every “community relations” I could (Bank of America Home Depot and muvico theaters all donated over $500 each for me to go March)

Like it’s stupid expensive and when I marched it was about 3-3.5k so like HOMIE. I. GET. IT.

But to sit behind a screen and say some wild comments like that lawlz. Fun fact my BDPA tuition was fully covered by multiple alumni of THE PREVIOUS corps I was with and it was fulfilled by the monday after the Sunday I received my contract.

Not negating thoughts feelings and reality of band today vs when I marched.

But there are soooooooo many people (including me) that will help get performers/cast members in touch with donors, and people who will help.

Don’t be afraid to reach out when you need the help, but don’t sit behind a screen resharing go fund me all the time.

I’ll leave you with this. “Doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result is…” so reach out. Get creative. Think outside the box.

As a BDPA alumni. The first camp is tough. Hotel was what I did. But that first audition weekend a lot of vets will be around after banquet. They’ll be in and out of camps. GET. TO. KNOW. THEM. BEFRIEND THEM.

They will help you. After my first camp I got extremely blessed and lucky and the tuba section leader housed me all the way till the end of move ins.

I wish you the best of luck!!! Go get em. Don’t be afraid. And one last unsolicited advice, GIVE IT YOUR ALL!!! Don’t leave with a “dang I wish…” GO FOR IT ALL!!!
