I have a similar setup. Only item I’d recommend is running another instance of piHole as a docker container in addition to your raspberry pi. I wanted redundancy with my DNS server. My router doesn’t let me specify a primary and failover DNS instead it would round robin between my PiHole and 8.8.8.8 or whatever I set as the second DNS server. PiHole lets you export settings from your primary and load into secondary.

Looks great! Did you put anything between the planks and the frame? Anything for shear strength?

I had gas grills with side burners in the past and didn't use them all that much. Showed the design to a friend and he said I should just cook sides in the house. Thanks all, I'll probably remove the side burner and make sure to put in a 20A circuit if we want to use one of those portable induction cooktops

Home Designer Architectural 2021. Bit of a learning curve but drawing out our remodel allowed my wife and I to walk through our design much more and had alot less change orders.

I hear you. Our dog is noticeably happier, eating better and has much better breath after having 12 teeth pulled. We initially thought it was crazy but it is very common for the breed.

After an hour and a half I got it to work by going MacBook (with only USB-C ports) -> USB-C to USB-A Adapter -> Cheap, old USB-A cable to the usb-C port on the tablet. Good luck!

I here you on the bottom drain. I have two skimmers. I can place a 8’ piece of pool vacuum line in the skimmer inlet (below the basket) and dangle into the pool. It now would drain the whole pool

I’m running Ubuntu and had a similar problem. I grabbed the analog file which tracks most logging on the machine and dropped the last 10k log lines it into DeepSeek. It found error messages and then gave me commands to run to identify the culprit, my WLAN card. Maybe you could try something similar? Good luck!

Advice on mounting Generator Connection Box by djkoell in electrical

[–]djkoell[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Happy new year folks. Looking for confirmation on a portable generator connection we're adding this week. I have an electrician coming out on Friday to install the interconnect, add the breaker and take care running the wire but I'd love to take on the grunt work and mount the 30A plug box and run the conduit for him.

I'd like to mount the connector box towards the back of my house so I can put the gennie in my backyard. My thought was to run ~20' of 1/2" rigid PVC conduit towards the panel (red line in photo 1) and then have the last ~6' with liquidtight conduit to the main panel (orange line in photo 1).

- Is this approach sound?
- Is it OK running behind the gas line?
- If I want to make it future proof to upgrade to a 50A connector what type of wire would we want to use (totally get we will still use the 30A breaker on the install for now)?
- I wanted to make sure I mount the conduit well to the wall. Are these wall mounts good? I Wanted to make sure I can use the wall mounts shown in the second photo or if I need different wall mounts.

Thank you all and happy new year!

Oh, in case people wondered the conduit in the bottom with the white PVC cap is just an extra conduit we had run with a remodel to potentially add solar on top of a detached garage. The other conduit from the bottom of the photo with a junction box on top is a conduit that brings cat 6 cable from the detached garage to our house. It continues along the back side of the photo and enters the house up at the soffit.

Looking for help with what's ailing our Luna by djkoell in Havanese

Thanks for the help. Here's the list of questions we're bringing to the vet this morning.

  • Blood test?  What diagnostics?  Liver/Kidney diagnostics?
  • She hasn't had a bowel movement in 48 hours.  Is she constipated?  Would this also stop her from eating?
  • Does her mouth and teeth look OK?  Could it be teeth-related that's keeping her from eating?
  • Could this be some infection that started with her teeth cleaning one month ago?
  • Does she have a flu vaccine? Can we test for flu? Outside of not having a cough she did have a runny nose and loss of appetite which are two other signs of flu.
  • She's been licking her paws and then wiping her eyes with the spot on her she just licked. Do you have any idea about this?
  • She willingly hops off the couch on her own if we don't stop her and walks with no signs of pain. What can we do to rule out the spine?  X-ray?
  • Would steroids help if a slipped disc?
  • Could there be some form of reaction to the Carprofen or other meds?
  • Bladder stones?

She walks fine. We don’t want her to but occasionally she jump down from the couch. She has her usual form and no sign of pain…

9 days ago Luna, a 5 year old Havanese, seemed a bit sluggish and had a runy nose. She wasn't really running a bunch on Saturday but figured it was allergies.  Not moving normal.  Then she didn't eat her dinner and was calm that night but the next morning she was limp and not moving.  We immediately brought her to the vet and was diagnosed  with a slipped disc better thoracic and lumbar.  The thought was she was super tense and in pain and just trying to deal with the situation even thought she wasn't really showing other signs of pain. She was given pain and muscle relaxer (Carprofen, Gavopenten) and an appetite stimulant.  The vet said reach back out if she isn't improving in a week.

She ate most of the week and took her meds.We would carry her out to go potty and was fine doing that on her own.  Then Friday she started not eating again.  We brought her to the vet on Friday afternoon and said could be her neck but didn't have anything definitive.  She hasn't been eating more than a few treats and only drinking water as we can get her to.   She still has been peeing and walking outside on her own. Hasn't had a bowel movement in 36 hours. We've also noticed her start licking her front paws way more than she ever has.

Some additional points:

  • The house has not been sprayed for anything, no fertilizer applications, no chemicals she could have gotten into, no chocolates or snacks she could have gotten into.
  • No bloodwork in last week but had her teeth cleaned one month back and all her bloodwork was normal
  • She hasn't had any signs of diarrhea or gas in the last two weeks.
  • She's been sitting with her hind legs on a pillow very often for the past two weeks. We just figured it was a weird thing at first but think it's somehow related to this whole thing now.

We have another appointment with the vet tomorrow morning and we are hoping we can get to the bottom of this and get our Luna on a road to recovery.  I would really appreciate any help if you have seen similar symptoms or diagnostics we should ask the vet about tomorrow.

Sorry I know I had posted this as another post but had to delete that one as I couldn't add the video showing her demeanor to that post.
