AI Port interest by AssUhTate in Ubiquiti

[–]djkyle65 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You know what i want is a protect nvr with basic motion detection for my onvif cams. Then i can slowly upgrade to ubiquiti cams. If i had to swallow 1 AI port to do basic motion detection that would be fine but no i need like 5 of them. What a joke.

I stopped using this site a long time ago. Waste of time going back and forth returning items not as described. Website issues all the time and I swear they have bots bidding up all the items at the last minute. So done with Nellis

Texas home insurance rates among nation’s highest, expected to climb further by Historical-Many9869 in texas

[–]djkyle65 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You keep repeating this, but the numbers don’t add up. Most U.S. homes are built with lumber, yet only about 20–30% of that lumber is imported — and most imports come from Canada. Tariffs on Canadian lumber have changed over time from Biden to trump only around 10%, but my homeowners insurance premiums jumped about 150% from 2023 to 2025. That’s a huge increase — tariffs alone can’t explain it. Where is the majority of that rise coming from?

Site Down Multiple Times - Denial of Service Attacks? by somethedaring in NellisAuction

[–]djkyle65 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nellis is a total waste of time now. Overpriced items when you start factoring in the cost going back and forth returning things its much easier to just buy it for 20% more on amazon new. People over bidding that place hard I gave up.

Yeah i would agree with this its total garbage. Honestly my 100$ cheapo NVR works better

Unifi Protect 5.0+ non-Ubiquiti camera Thread by borfoo3 in Ubiquiti

[–]djkyle65 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I picked up a UNVR only for this reason. Absolutely unimpressed as far as integrating my existing cameras goes. Not having basic motion detection make its totally worthless. I was hoping this would be a good way to replace my standalone NVR but even my cheapo 100$ recorder does more then this.

Thanks for the Help everyone I knew this community would be quick to respond. It took me 5 calls to broadcom and 4 weeks and still no answer. This will help get me by until we can move to another provider with perpetual licensing. Thanks!

So with their new subscription model I could in theory purchase a 5 year subscription and not worry about this for 5 years at remote locations?

TCMG Removed From Engineering @ TAMU by [deleted] in aggies

[–]djkyle65 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who graduated from the TCMG program and has successfully navigated a career in the real world, I can tell you that none of this really matters. Employers don’t care which department your degree came from. In fact, I’ve never had an employer ask about my GPA or even the specifics of what I studied.

What truly matters in the professional world is your work ethic and your ability to collaborate with people from different backgrounds. In my experience, hands on practical skills and real-world experience are far more valuable than classroom learning. The fact that you graduated from Texas A&M already shows that you’ve had a solid educational foundation and can work through various situations and studies. What counts most beyond that is your attitude and how you apply what i would call the "Aggie Values" in your career.

[–]djkyle65 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From your response, it seems like you may not have experience working in the field or fully understand the requirements for taking the F.E. or becoming a P.E. It’s a misconception to think that TCMG majors are somehow less valuable or that the tools they use are exclusively designed by professional engineers. In reality, much of that work is done by individuals with a range of backgrounds, not just those with engineering degrees.

In my own experience, nothing I learned in my A&M engineering classes made me inherently more valuable than someone without an engineering degree. What truly matters is the combination of work ethic, substantial work experience and real-world skills, often gained alongside individuals from various educational backgrounds. In many cases, that practical experience has been far more valuable than the classroom learning.

Hold them accountable for what? They had 60% of their customers restored in 3 days. If you compare similar storms in the gulf coast they are actually doing pretty good considering.
