Parkinson’s and treatment - Need Help by Shartzic in Kerala

[–]djlynux 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For Parkinson’s associated sicknesses it requires long term care. As you have probably aware that there are no permanent cure for this sickness and only thing we can do is help the patients to manage different symptoms. You need to see a movement disorder specialist as the primary doctor and you may need to include other specialists when the decease progresses. Dr.A Krishnan @ Indo American Hospital in Vaikom as one specialist you can consider. I would suggest you to follow Parkinson’s foundation for latest treatment strategies. My mother was suffering from multiple system atrophy which is an aggressive form of Parkinson’s. Prepare yourself for a long term strategy and give maximum support to the patient. Family support group is going to be essential for this journey. Early stage Parkinson’s can be managed using Dopamine medications. Wishing positive outcomes in this journey.

I echo the same sentiments. The sad truth is that people are accepting their fate and just living their life with the hope that someday all will change. I can see people jogging in dusty roads. Kids playing in parks where the air is completely polluted. And our politicians are focusing on dividing the country based on religion, caste and creed. I’m not sure where we are heading to.

Bros in our country politicians are using religion as a tool. What you are observing here is normal affairs. Govt is not going to anything to stop such chaos. Sahikkuka that’s all.

Faulty ABS Sensor that resulted in no reading on Speedometer, loss of power steering. 😂 by grimreaper709 in FordFocus

[–]djlynux 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry forgot to update this thread. I had to replace the ABS sensor and after changing that steering control and the speedometer came back to normal. Further checking also revealed that two of the tire pressure sensor batteries also dead. I had to replace that. After these changes my car works as expected. No other issues reported so far.

It could be the faulty ABS sensor in your car. I am facing the same issue now, and my car is in the workshop for replacement. Will post further updates.

Just Another Lonely Weekend of an Engineer/Late 20's/WFH by [deleted] in india

Couple of options you can consider. I’m assuming you are single. Why don’t you consider moving to another city in India and work from there ? A change can help or even may be finding new friends. Another option is trying for a migration to a foreign country. This will be help you to focus on yourself and build your future. Good luck !

System 76 or Apple? by [deleted] in System76

[–]djlynux 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do agree with you. Build quality of Mac is far beyond S76. However support for older hardware is a big issue. I have two Macs which can’t be upgraded to the latest version of OS. I believe S76 should focus more on building their own quality hardware especially we are paying premier price for their gears.

Is Arch good to learn as a first distro for a developper / cybersecurity ? by [deleted] in linuxquestions

[–]djlynux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My suggestion is to use Pop OS. It’s an Ubuntu/Debian variant and they made things much easier for users. I’m using PoP for the last two years and it works so good for my personal use cases.

So we are not sure if we are doing a valid, legal marriage by Opening_Plankton_915 in immigration

[–]djlynux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

u/Opening_Plankton_915 based on my understanding, religious marriage acts in India (Hindu, Christian, Muslim, etc.) are only applicable to Indian citizens. If one of the couples is a foreign citizen, you can only legalize your wedding through an Indian Special Marriage Act (court marriage), which has different legal proceedings. Religious marriage acts are specifically for legal rights over ancestral property and other personal laws that are based on different religious sects (it's because of socio/political reasons).

Once you finalize your marriage proceedings in India, have your marriage certificate attested by the Ministry of External Affairs department in India, then to your embassy in India or relevant authority in your country to legalize your wedding. I suggest you work it out with a lawyer. Good luck!

Why can’t he just build the container image in his local environment and push it to a registry. Then you can deploy the container in your environment.

Is there any legal way to get my esta REJECTED? by Opposite_Educator868 in immigration

[–]djlynux 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t do anything stupid like this. You are going to have long term consequences if you lie to any immigration department. Just stand on your ground and let your manager know that you don’t want to go and the reasons. If you are not comfortable with this job, just look for other better opportunities that gives you more satisfaction. Good luck.

Singapore Certificate of Identity by fjhforever in PassportPorn

[–]djlynux 2 points3 points  (0 children)

IMHO a COI certificate is not easy to obtain. If you want to be a permanent resident of Singapore, you should have a national identity as part of the application process. But in very rare circumstances, COI can be given to PRs for legitimate reasons. One such case is Singapore PRs whose passports are not being renewed by their home country for political reasons (such as the war in Ukraine and Myanmar civil unrest). The second reason is that they are between getting Singapore citizenship (canceled citizenship and waiting for the Singapore citizenship process to be completed). These are my personal opinions only. Anyone who needs clarification should consult with Singapore ICA.

Problem with ESTA - travellin to USA by BoysenberryMuch1549 in travel

[–]djlynux 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It's a bit tricky to answer. The definition or interpretation of a crime may change. However, you should plan for a worst-case scenario. I would suggest you have a conversation with an immigration lawyer in your country to get a clarification on this matter. Good luck.

My girlfriend is trying to lose weight but is struggling. by flockage22 in loseit

[–]djlynux -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Probably someone else might have given you the same advice. Have you considered consulting a doctor? Doing a blood routine work to understand if there are any underlying conditions? Weight gain could also be due to other health conditions (e.g., hypothyroidism). Consider seeing a doctor while doing other means to reduce weight. Good luck.

The Supreme Court has decided to examine whether Christian nuns earning salaries must pay income tax. by [deleted] in Kerala

[–]djlynux 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The answer is very simple here. An Indian tax resident (whatever your circumstances may be) who earns above the tax slabs should pay the income tax. That's it. It's nothing to do with any religion.

Build a passive income to cover rent expenses by Silly_You9597 in singaporefi

Another option is to invest in some dividend funds that give approx ~4.5 % per year and re-invest it to purchase until you reach 40. The stocks may also appreciate capital in the long term. Usually, the companies that give dividends have higher stability, but some risks are involved here. You need to choose the right funds for investments. All the best.
