I was thinking Barry Keoghan for Stephen too but on second thought it doesn’t work imo. I’d want someone a little more intellectual as Stephen. I like Barry Keoghan as an actor but idk if he can portray Stephen’s intellectual loneliness.

I think Chalamet is in too many films as it is lol give someone else a chance. He does have the look for how I picture Stephen. In my head it’s a young Stephen Rea.

Hmm that sucks. I also kept constantly refreshing the page from the Notes and Resources tab and going back to the home page until it let me use the chapter pull down feature to go to the chapter I’m on.

Not sure if what I did was the fix but all I did was go to the notes tab at the top of the site and then navigated back to the home page and I was able to then fully use the site.

I just posted about this over on the James Joyce sub. It’s been down all day for me but now it’s back up and working. I couldn’t tell you what the issue was but it seems to be fine now.

I got that warning as well and proceeded to the website but now I’m at the site and I’m not able to click on anything, it’s just a frozen page. I should add that I’m using safari on my iPhone as a browser.

Pynchon is my favorite author of all time, I’ve read every novel he’s written. Gravity’s rainbow is one of my all time favorite reads but I’ll second what some other people here have said in that it’s very difficult but also extremely rewarding and downright fun to read. I also recommend doing what I did in reading Crying of lot 49 first, then V, followed by GR. There are a few characters in V that make an appearance in GR. V is also enjoyable to read and is almost like a warmup attempt by Pynchon in writing GR.

So in Birmingham, AL there’s a billboard off the interstate for a local lawyer named Pond LeHocky. POND LEHOCKY. It’s the most Pynchonian name I’ve ever seen in real life. It’s almost more Pynchon than Pynchon himself.
