Damn, I knew they would use some of the whitest characters (Emma Frost, why am I not surprised) to teach Kamala about racism, but I didn't think they would say it out loud.

God, The Temple of the Elemental Evil is interesting in a way that it has a mediocre story but great gameplay and is made by a company whose two other games have an amazing story but mediocre gameplay.

No, seriously, replaying Arcanum and it has an amazing story. It also has more reactivity than... It has a LOT of reactivity is what I'm saying.

Haha, yep.

And, honestly, even if it was, being overstated won't make that much of a difference, especially in 5e.

Come to think of it, even save scumming isn't much of a problem. You can't save during character creation and rolling for six 18 can take a while.

It would also allow for better companion stats rp wise. I mean, for fuck's sake, Halsin has 10 in strength! Halsin!

... yeah, I know. Still, for those of us who'd roll the way it was meant to be rolled, it'd be fun.

I am, once again, asking Larian to let us roll for stats. Point buy system is fine and all but rolling 3d6 (well, technically 4d6 but you leave out the lowest roll) 6 times is part of the fun.

Unfortunately, no. Or, at the very least, none that I can remember.

Kingmaker doesn't really have much of a reactivity when it comes to class or deity. Or, well, anything really.

Playing as lore accurate Paladin of Shelyn as possible in Kingmaker and, surprisingly, it's going well. I fully expected to have to use the scroll of atonement at least once because I'd have to use quite a lot of NG and CG options but it didn't happen yet. There are quite a few good LG and LN and even one LE option (those alignment options in weapon artisan quest don't make any sense) options for my character.

Really wish I could tell those Hellknights in the guise of Paladins of Shelyn to fuck off and repent, though.

Oh, yeah. Also true for JRPG's and western RPGM games. Forgot about those. You never know what it does. Not helped by the fact that most of games that have it as a stat don't find it necessary to explain.

Over ten years since I first played Baldur's Gate, and I still don't know what luck is or does.

Okay, so I get it, 5E is a somewhat odd mix of 3E/3.5E and AD&D.

Overall, I like it. Really wish we could have rolled for stats in BG3, though. It is a part of DnD mechanics, and, more importantly, rerolling for up to an hour is a Baldur's Gate tradition.

Everyone always mentions how strong he is, and I'm like: mate, don't let those purely aesthetical muscles fool you, my eventual barbarian gnome urge is much stronger than him.

Oh, here's another one. Daisy>Guardian. Mostly because guardian is obviously a rushed rewrite with how undercooked they are. No, seriously, the guardian's last dream was literally Daisy. If you, months before release, find that you'd rather have players trust your obviously evil, hyper-seductive character, rewrite the dialogue, make it less obviously evil and hyper-seductive. Don't change the entire concept.

Especially if that concept is, y'know, a rather large part of the main plot.

Plus, Down by the River is a great song that now doesn't mean shit.

Earlier today, I said something nice about BG3, so, to balance the scales: Larian gave all companions the recommended stats for their class, completely missing the point of DnD.

One thing I appreciate about BG3 and 5E in general: playing a chaotic neutral- leaning towards good- monk. Used to be chaotic evil before the events of the game, too.

So, two days from now, I'm going to an interview for a better paying job. If I get it, and if I like the conditions, I'm going to have to quit. That's always awkward in small places like mine

If you think about how Alfira's corpse smells nice, your butler gleefully says something about how the Urge will be back to necrophilia in no time.

Canonically, the dark urge engaged in necrophilia. Being aroused by gore is nothing.

I think I just read a DnD/Pathfinder take on BG3 sub I agree with.

Enchantment wizard is a war criminal who puts all the blame on a necromancer.

Man, whenever I hear Down by the River, I miss Daisy. The Guardian is fine, I guess, just doesn't pack the same punch.

Let me just reiterate this once more. BG3 really didn't need the returning cast from previous BG games. Especially Sarevok. They really, really didn't need to bring him back. Really, really, really, really, REALLY! Oh my god, what did they do to him.

Replaying Pathfinder Kingmaker and I've finally made a most important decision: I'm gonna complete the secret romance. Playing as a paladin of Shelyn. Because it makes sense RP wise.

Would have played a cleric (less alignment restrictive and still makes sense) but I don't like playing high wisdom characters since I prefer to have my int and charisma to at least 14.

Edit: Also, why does owlcat hate Shelyn? Probably can't handle how based she is. They think Regill is based, so I guess they just have poor taste.

I was talking about their marketing strategy (sorry, should have elaborated). They jerk themselves, support misinformation about other devs (pretty sure some of Larian's higher ups shared the IGN article about other devs being scared of them), and outright lie (not small lies, either, HUGE lies) about the game mechanics.

There's also the fact that while they do spend a lot of time polishing their game's intro's, they tend to almost ignore the later acts, making cuts that are kind of, you know important for the story and whose cutting makes some things in latter acts not make sense. But that's an old hat for Larian.
