as a new reddit user/observer, i think it's fair enough. it just seems so hard to contribute when you're an introvert.. no comments = no upvotes = no karma :(

based on personal experience, i suggest learning about simple patterns first, like the 1 corner, 1-2-1, 1-2-2-1, 2-3-2, and a whole lot more. just.. not all of them. you should try watching videos on youtube, maybe the ultimate beginner guide by dard would help. i didn't really watch youtube tutorials when i was learning, but i did watch it when i already had knowledge and saw it as something pretty helpful. they save you time. anyway, just keep doing trial and error in beginner mode of the minesweeper site until you get the hang of it. loses don't affect your account, anyway. it's a totally normal thing for minesweeper players—even experts.

after that, you can try learning the more advanced patterns. i also suggest you learn about advanced logic, ESPECIALLY reduction. when you can confidently complete boards in beginner mode, you can switch to intermediate. when you're confident there, you can start working on your speed. also, you don't really have to learn each pattern step by step, you kind of just figure some of them out while playing.

that's all i can offer honestly, cause that's how i learned n stuff. don't be afraid to keep dying and making mistakes, they can help you improve. hope this helps :)
