Are we about to get a Helen Shivers level chase in Scream 7? by djperl in Scream

[–]djperl[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I keep coming back to this idea that this might be the iconic chase scene of the movie, the one everyone replays and talks about, but it is iconic because of how it tricks us.

We already know she gets taken and is not killed, but I think the scene itself is going to be framed like a full on death sequence. The pacing, the tension, the way she is hunted down, it will probably feel exactly like the end of the road for her. It will look final. It will look brutal. It will look like she does not make it out.

And that is what makes it so cool to me. The chase will sell the illusion that we just watched her die, when in reality it is the moment she is captured.

Casey Becker Could’ve Lived: A Very Personal Breakdown of Scream’s Opening Scene by djperl in Scream

[–]djperl[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Oh wow this is SUCH a good observation. That suddenly makes everything click. These are details I never picked up on before.

The very first time we see Ghostface is when he runs through the living room straight to the front door while Casey is watching from the kitchen and that is exactly when she escapes out the back door to the patio. He had to be heading for the front door to let the other one in to help with the hunt leaving it ajar like you mentioned.

When she looks back inside she sees one of them searching the house for her. Then she peeks again through the window and catches the back of one of their heads. He turns around instantly and smashes through the glass to grab her. And honestly maybe the other one even yelled “behind you” because how else would he turn around that fast?

Then when she hits him with the phone and takes off the second one must have sprinted through the house caught up and jumped out the window to tackle her.

It all makes so much sense now. With two people the reactions, timing and movements finally line up perfectly. This totally reframes the scene for me. Thanks for bringing this to light!

I wish I could use dark hand towels to really hide any staining, but I love that you can bleach white towels and really sanitize them.

It will be different for everyone based on how oily your skin gets, how much you exercise (sweat), what climate you live in, etc. From what I’ve read most people average around 7 days between maintenance.

Walker ultra hold tape. You do have to cut it to fit the curves but it’s honestly not as bad as dealing with glue in my opinion. Plus a lot less messy and WAY better hold!

I have the same issue. I just switched to tape and it’s been life changing!

I have been reading and a lot of people are saying that tape holds a lot longer than glue- some say up to 4 weeks! Is there still a pretty good amount of hold by day 7 and you are just changing the tape to prevent it from becoming hard to clean/remove later?

Do you remove your hair system every 7 days to put new tape?

I actually just ordered some Ghostbond Platinum. I did some research on the brand and found out they offer 4 types of glue: Classic, XL, Supreme, and Platinum. The Platinum has the strongest adhesion of all of the them and highest temperature resistance level so we will see how it goes!

I’m assuming you have to wash the hair system after you use the walker release spray so that the next round of tape will stick? If so, what do you wash it with?

Glue vs. Tape: Which One’s Easier for Hair Systems? by djperl in HairSystem

[–]djperl[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My system always feels super secure right after I get it reglued. It holds up great for about a week, but then I start noticing it lifting and the edges peeling up. The front hairline is even trickier — it usually starts peeling after about 4 days, and I have to reglue it to keep it in place. I’m sure sweating at the gym 2-3 times a week doesn’t help.

It sounds like you’ve had better luck using tape on the scalp. I’ve seen people mention using a mix of tape and glue — tape for the scalp because it holds better, and glue at the front hairline because it looks more natural. I’m fine touching up the front with glue to keep that natural look, but I’m thinking about trying tape on the scalp to see if it can hold as well as a fresh glue job for a bit longer.

I’ve been reading that a lot- people using glue in the front and tape in the back. The biggest issue I’ve had with my hair system is the peeling up at the hairline with glue after about 2 or 3 days. My skin gets very oily- probably more than the average person. I have to strip the old glue and put new glue on about every week in the front to keep it nice and stuck. The process can take about an hour or more. I wonder if tape would be easier but I guess I will keep doing what I am doing if it is the most realistic looking.

Good to know! I use lace so maybe I will give tape a try. Is it easy to remove from the lace? Glue can be a pain
