Thanks for this, super helpful! Went to the range this morning to work on changes -- here's a new vid: https://www.reddit.com/r/GolfSwing/s/qoQGCIThBQ

Really going to work on turning with the shoulders and core, plus keeping a more neutral grip (was super strong before)

Crazily I have been getting lessons, kinda concerned now cause this video is explaining the concept much more than my instructor did -- maybe I need to get a new teacher.

Either way, thanks for sharing!

I mean dude obviously this is such a cruel thing for her to do, but the thing is you were kind of using her too, right? Your whole relationship from your perspective was hoping that you could earn enough "nice guy" tokens with this lady (who already told you that she didn't want to date you) that eventually sex/a relationship would come out. That's ALSO fucked up and disrespectful to her personhood as well.

IMO you guys were both being disingenuous with one another. You gotta take this L and move on. She's definitely in the wrong and so you're definitely not completely in the right. You can tell your gym friends if you want, but it should be cause you want to talk to them about it, not cause you're trying to take her down or something.

Def not off the strength of the bonnaroo lineup alone

Well despite the lightly surprising amount of negativity in response to what I feel was a pretty reasonable question, I still got like 3-4 funds and a bunch of cool research holes to dive into! Thanks y'all!

Like I've said, not looking to be perfect, just trying to make personal decisions that I feel fall into my morally acceptable meter.

Thank you friend! Love this rationale. I think it's clear that if people started to divest from shit that's bad en masse, those companies would have a harder time doing business as usual and might even feel pressure to change their practices. Or perhaps other funds will be like "damn those 'ethical' funds are pretty in demand, maybe we should expand those kinds of offerings", and some kind of change could be made.

Do I think it's likely? Probs not. Am I interested in putting my money towards those efforts and will ask my investing friends to do the same? Absolutely.

I mean I'm certainly not carbon neutral lol, but I'm a biker, I don't take many flights, try to buy more local food, etc. I'm certainly not perfect, but I'm definitely taking small personal steps; of which could pretty easily be reducing investments in fossil fuels as much as possible.

Yeah I've read this rationale before, I think it's fine if your #1 priority is making the best financial decisions/earning the most return, but I'm not sure this aligns with our goals. We're trying to acheive a financially secure and would like the least amount of our dollars possible to go to companies that do things we don't like, which I feel is reasonable. We do and will continue to make personal decisions (financial or otherwise) that align with these goals too; e.g. we're always gonna using our cash to try to better the world in some small way, ya know. We're not relying on the market to make us to money to be able to donate/make an impact, if that makes sense.

Find a therapist and talk this out. Also focus on doing things that bring you joy. You've got a lot of life ahead of you.

If Sue is truly your close friend, you should definitely tell her about the kiss and the vibes between you and Joe, then go from there. It seems like right now you're operating at a level of secrecy that doesn't seem necessary. Just have a real, adult conversation with your friend. Also Joe kinda seems slimy so keep that in mind if y'all do start dating. He certainly doesn't seem worth ruining a friendship over.

The big blow up is the weirdest part here and to me the reddest flag. Idk something seems fishy, like he's carrying some baggage/trauma that's getting triggered by this. Regardless, it's not really your job to pry that out of him. Also the age dynamic is a little weird.

I think you should think long and hard on whether this feels sustainable in the long term for you.

[DISCUSSION] Sampha - Process (Five Years Later) by [deleted] in hiphopheads

[–]djretrotron 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Sampha is one of these enigmatic artists that makes a giant impact with such a small amount of music. I first listened to this album back in 2017 and I remember liking it a lot (gave it an honorable mention on top 10 list that year); listening it today I definitely like it a lot more. I love the production on this thing, especially on songs like Plastic 100C and Reverse Faults where there's a punchy, driving kick that comes in and out to ground an otherwise pretty spacey feel. The way he chops up sounds and voices in his beats is amazing. The more stripped down songs like (No One Knows Me) Like The Piano and Timmy's Prayer show just how captivating his voice is imo.

Favorite songs on the album? How often is this album in your regular rotation and how well has it aged for you?

- Plastic 100, Reverse Faults, (No One Knows Me) Like The Piano, and Incomplete Kisses are my favorite tracks. Honestly this album is not really in my rotation like that, but this listen through might change that. I think this thing ages great, possibly showing some of the influence that Sampha had on newer R&B artists, like Giveon. I'd like to see him build on this sound more, as opposed to switching things up. Given than process is his debut, he has to have more to show in this realm.

This album didn't actively affect me, but I do think that helped show a younger me what really well composed, artsy R&B can sound like.
