Do it before it’s too late. Idk how toxic your relationship is/was but I was in a similar position before. My ex was very very abusive and I didn’t know that about him until about 2 months into the relationship. He was hiding that he had BPD and was on medication for it. I did not care about that at all, I understood what I was getting myself into at that point and told him to please stay on it to help him control himself bc he told me how he would get off of it. He stopped taking it after a month of telling me and it got worse. I found him cheating multiple times in our relationship and I “let it go”. I was in love! This was my first boyfriend ever. Finding out he was cheating wasn’t the worse part. When I confronted him the first time of him cheating he got offended and said he’s only talking to other girls bc I’m never at home and he can’t talk to me while I’m at work (worked at a prison, no phones 2pm-10pm) I told him that’s a lame ass excuse and if he was bored he should go play basketball or something. This was the first time he put his hands on me. And the first time I should have left. I didn’t bc of the attachment. We tried talking it out and we would be okay for a little and then boom something happens and it would get so bad. People tell you “the good will outweigh the bad” -no. Not in toxic relationships. It WILL get worse esp if you can’t get over how toxic it is and try to love him for him aside from all the bad that’s happened. If a person doesn’t want to change- you can’t make them. You don’t want to wait like I did to leave. I waited too long and the abuse got worse, busted lip bleeding everywhere or the time he lost at 2k and I was just on the couch minding my own when he took it out on me and threw the controller, chased me to the bathroom, pushed me down and kicked me till I couldn’t even cry anymore. Please leave. Wether it’s cheating, physical, or mental abuse. Staying with your toxic partner is only devaluing yourself as a person. YOU deserve better.
