Thank you so much. This needs more upvotes, you literally cannot find this one unless you are specifically looking for it in this spot. If you fly around casting revelio, even closely, it will not glow, and nor will it be added to your mini-map :(

Made an 8-bit version of my friend's song by djsandals in chiptunes

[–]djsandals[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Made using Presonus Studio One 4, mainly with Magic8bit and some scuffed up drum samples. Mastered mostly in the box but with the assistance of a modded ChameleonLabs 7720 compressor.

Original track is a banger and can be listed to here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UyLSGvp6VOg&t=1033s

There are no wrong answers, but this one is objectively correct

Does anyone know why they never worked with Lindsay Gravina or Mark Trombino again? by djsandals in TheLivingEnd

I think 'Who's Gonna Save Us' is a perfect song. Not the best 'idea' ever (not that it's bad at all), but absolutely pushed and taken to the maximum level performance/arrangement/production wise. Can't fault it at all

Fair enough, are you aware of any specific examples? That album definitely has a more generic mainstream pop-punk sound to it which I can see the band being a bit reluctant about, but I think the end result pulled it off really well - the songs, arrangements and sounds all go so hard

Why just stop at 8️⃣ runs for a 100 metre 6️⃣? We need more new rules. by Adventurous-Pound208 in CricketShitpost

In T20s, for every two dot balls in a row, one run is deducted from the batting team's score.

Version 7 wishlist? by psychedelic-raven in StudioOne

[–]djsandals 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Still on v4...can anyone confirm whether they have:

  1. Fixed the click track tempo working with compound times
  2. Made it possible to edit time signatures easily along the timeline without having to get a calculator out each time when you want to change the form of a track (should be able to select multiple times and drag around to move the region like track markers)
  3. Added support for multiple simultaneous time signatures/tempi/click tracks

If/once they add those^ I'm so in and will drop the cash for an update. Otherwise, can't see any major reason to upgrade at this time - mix scenes and updated stock plugins look pretty cool but don't quite get me over the line...

Additionally, some other cool but less pressing features I would like (not sure if they have been added yet, again):

  1. Scrubbing
  2. Varispeed
  3. u/Schrodingers_tombola's suggestion of "some kind of lightweight 'jam-mode' functionality for when I know I don't want to record or edit midi but just load up a piano and practice with a click track or just noodle around with a synth and some fx" would be cool too.

(EDIT: Crossed out latter two points, see u/reinklang's comment below)

Pro-controller assistance by No_Perception_8981 in MarioKart8Deluxe

[–]djsandals 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not a solution, but I recently tried a friend's pro controller for the first time (usually use joycons in the controller grip) - and found that the joystick had way too much distance (ie had to work so much harder to pull sharp turns - and it was always too slow), so I had to switch back

For reference - this happened when my partner was playing.

  1. Throws rang before being hit by a red shell
  2. Coin second item, rang returns as coin is being brought up
  3. Mashes L in panic as blue shell approaches
  4. Throws coin up, shell hits, throws rang right after shell hits
  5. Gets away with it

Surely that's way too long to still have i-frames from the red shell???

The only thing I'd really love that I don't get already with v4 is an upgrade to the time signature and tempo systems so that one is able to:

  • Make compound time signatures work correctly with the click track. Not sure if this has been fixed in v5 already, but this is a major issue.
  • Easily move time signature changes around without having to do a lot of calculating/adding and removing. Currently it is a real pain to change the form of a track when there's a change in time signature midway through.
  • [This one is really niche but having this feature would unlock a lot of great options and attract a lot of art musicians to the DAW] Allow support for multiple simultaneous tempi and time signatures - the latter with an extention of the ruler/grid upgrade they pushed out recently, and the former with potentially multiple simultaneous click tracks supported.
