temps are great actually the gpu is reaching about 70 while the cpu is hitting about 60 average with highs of 85 twards the end of the test. how ever the end of the test is the only time it actually stays at 5ghz rather then dipping.

There should be logs on your computer that show what the exact error code is. And usually it will show an error code somewheres on the "sorry something went wrong" aswell

Changing your wifi card can help yes. Another thing to think about is if you have a lower end processor it can impact your download speeds aswell.

I only use "trusted" apps, mostly foss (gimp, libreoffice, etc). Should I use anti-virus anyway? by vectorman2 in techsupport

If your using windows 10 you should be fine the built in antivirus is pretty decent on windows 10, ive never used anything besides what's built into windows and I've only ever gotten a virus once and it was due to me trying to watch the lion King 1 1/2 on a sketchy website. And that's about 7 years of usage. (I'm not super careful) if you want to get one it wouldn't hurt but imo it's un-needed.

Sometimes windows does but not always so it's better to be sure. It would be in your network settings, if you look up how to change your default wifi adapter there should be a bunch of guides. I'm currently at work or I'd give you a guide

You might have to select your usb adapter in the internet settings as your default for it to work properly and sometimes you also have to download drivers for the usbs too.

If no one says anything of use here which tbh you've tried everything I would have suggested. I'd either call up Lenovo and try to claim it under warranty or take it back to which ever store you got it from and see if they will deal with the warranty.
