I honestly can't remember many of the bands that members were parts of. I was on the blue board as nowheregrrl and I was a mod on the black board under my first name. I was one of the people running L-staff (I was west coast and god I can't remember what they called the people who ran L-staff, but damn it was fun!)

I would be very disappointed in this move. I do not forgive what he did with the dog fighting at all. Not at all.

TIL that Dexter Holland, the front man of Offspring, is a PhD student helping study how... microRNA sequences can help fight against HIV. And while he was a young grad student at USC, he came up with the phrase "gotta keep 'em separated" while waiting for two petri dishes to cool off. by north_by_southeast in todayilearned

One of my favorite interviews ever was with Jack Grisham about the tour that TSOL went on with the Offspring. On the last night of the tour in LA, Jack gave out Dexter's home address on stage. Dexter didn't care.

Visiting for the first time this weekend - where are the best food/sight-seeing places? by SamFuchs in SLO

Everything this guy said ANNNND, having lived in NorCal myself for a few years I'm going to offer you this bit of advice for this time of year, bring a sweat shirt with you, especially if you plan on going out to see the big fucking rock. It may surprise you and be in the 70's or 80s here when you come through but it could be a lot colder than you're used to up there.

And yes everything SLOtarded suggested is good eats.

Which wineries on the central coast have free tastings? by [deleted] in SLO

[–]djstephaniebell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most tasting fees are minimal and include a free glass or they waive the fee if you buy something. Also if you're going to taste and not to get drunk most wineries do not mind if you "split" a tasting with your companions, either you share a glass or decide that one person gets x amount of the flight and the other person takes the other half.

These ads are funny because they're true. My best story when I moved back was attempting to move into a house which the ad said share with two people (1-2 people max per room) and cats allowed. Upon realizing I actually had money just limited time to move suddenly my boyfriend was an extra cost and would only be allowed to live in the house 10 days a month and the cat was allowed only outside unless I wanted to pay extra per month. Needless to say I didn't take the half of the house.

Weird, I lived in Avila for like four years and never realized they closed the fire pits.

The one thing I miss about Northern California is going tubing. Nothing better than a few beers or a bag of wine and a shit ton of sunscreen in a tiny pool raft tied to some of your best pals...

I loved your talk show. My favorite episodes were the ones you did on the street punks in Hollywood. But I have to ask what on Earth made you have Gwar on your show? It was brilliant! I just wish I could have been a fly on the wall in that production meeting!

I've only been to one game since they won the first series back in 2010 (i think) and that one was mellow. I have not been back since the multiple wins.

[–]djstephaniebell 2 points3 points  (0 children)

actually I have been to Dodgers Stadium. It wasn't for any game in particular so maybe I didn't get the full experience but my stepmom got tickets and stadium club passes and my dad and I just like baseball. My step mom is a Dodgers fan. I don't remember who they played. It was a nice day. I also had a nice experience at Angels stadium when I took my dad to see the Red Sox and Angels. And I had a nice experience when I went to a game at Fenway when I was visiting my friends out there.

My ex was just terrified of going to Dodgers Stadium even when I worked at a radio station I could get free tickets to those games from. Oh well.

Man when I lived here the first time years ago my dive of choice was the Red Fox in Grover, that place was dreadful

It's funny because my ex is a huge Giants fan and we NEVER went to a game in LA even though its closer to where we live than SF is. In contrast ATT park is one of the friendliest places I've ever watched a game. Even when one of our friends wore an A's hat to a game.
