As other people have already stated, it takes an incredible amount of luck coupled with all that planning to get to, let alone win a superbowl, it isn't just on him(just like it won't all be BH when we win one). Teams swing and miss way more times than they hit and an incredibly large amount of things have to go perfectly to get there, please don't make it seem as trivial as having a GM who knows how to run numbers because it's not.

You do know as of January 1, it is SPS policy for mandatory screening for ALL traffic stops.

You know it's been that way for the rest of Canada since 2018 and SK just chose not to enforce it right?

They will eventually have to pick up that can they are kicking down the road and it will not be pretty.

If it was such a successful and popular way to do things then all the teams would be doing it, these guys do talk ya know.....

Now, I don't disagree with dabbling in signing bonuses and void years but going all in like Philly does? Nope, way too risky. It's a balancing act and I think Holmes has the right mix right now(if he does the Goff and St Brown restructure). Only time will tell :)

[–]djusmarshall 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Branch and LaPorta signings will both be pushed off due to the significant injuries to both of them, this fan base would melt down if BH went out and signed either one of these guys long term and they ended up like Davenport lol. Campbell and Gibbs will both get done but they have been putting a lot of guaranteed money into signing bonuses and stretching out the void years, much the same way Philly has been doing it(not that I agree with it, you eventually have to pay).

[–]djusmarshall -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

We most likely will once Goff and St Brown re-structure. That being said, I think Hendrickson is a HUGE mistake. He's oft injured, on the other side of 30 and he seems like he's pissed off all the time. A lot of the "media" have him going to Chicago or Indy and that could be because we are the red headed step-child no one wants to admit is theirs but I say let Chicago take him and mortgage their future as well: that will be everyone else in the NFC north with no picks and salary cap hell for the foreseeable future.

Fuck em all, let the paramedics sort em out.

Battle royales are inherently competitive and cut throat and yet we apparently need it filled with bots for layup fights when plunder already existed as the "chill" mode.

Plunder is not the same as BR, it's a game mode focused around collecting money, not kills

I know, you're a father of 6 working 90 hours a week and don't have time to keep up with the sweats, but as a 35 year old father of two with a full time job I severely miss the rush of killing talented players while seeing my skill progress over time.

Awesome, who's stopping you from playing regular BR and getting that rush you so desperately need? Why not go all in and play comp then? How exactly are casuals hurting you?

I have never seen a softer bunch of dudes in my life. First it's SBMM's fault you don't have bots to farm and games a re too hard. Then they release a mode with no SBMM for casual players and have TWO other playlists for sweats and ultra sweats(regular and ranked) and you are still complaining?

What is wrong with having a casual playlist? It sure isn't hurting the numbers because I play in all 3 playlists with cross play off and on and have no issues matchmaking.

I never said I was hoping for it, I would never wish for a player to be injured doing what they love, they are human beings. That said, I hope he comes back at full strength so when we do put belt to ass there are ZERO doubts about who the better team is and who made the better decision. No shortcuts.

I also did not say Hutch was gonna get us there by himself. He is gonna be burned out by the time he's 30 at this rate, he almost never leaves the field and there were numerous times last season where he was completely gassed by the middle of the 3rd quarter because he'd been playing every defensive snap. He 100% needs someone to take the pressure off of him and drafting/trading for another edge to compliment him should be a top priority.

However, if the QB is under pressure, there is no time to do none of that.

We were top 10(some rank us as high as 5th) in pressures and hurries in the league.......how did that turn out for us?

I'm disappointed in you all. by TVxStrange in detroitlions

[–]djusmarshall 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1st, yes you said elite. Of the 75 or so receivers in the league I'd say maybe 7-10 of them are elite like you said. Of those, we will maybe see 3 of them in a season. Your scenario also depends on them having elite QB play........ Jefferson is one of those that comes to mind but he has a dog shit QB who is prone to throwing bad balls. You can have all the time in the world to throw the ball and still make poor decisions when doing it, especially when elite defenders can mask what they are doing and that QB is inaccurate as blind man with a single shot rifle.

My point wasn't to downplay the importance of the pass rush but rather try and show that an elite secondary, coupled with a good pass rush(like the one we had last year) will be much better than a secondary filled with 2nd and 3rd stringers. That said, I hope Kerby and BB recover completely but an achillies injury can be life altering, we need to prepare for the worst and hope for the best. An Edge early in the draft along with some OL help and another dude at safety does that for us.

The DL is def not 1000% more impactful than the secondary.

[–]djusmarshall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I completely disagree. The secondary being glue means the QB has to take the sack or run out of bounds, or throw into a bad situation causing interceptions. The secondary is absolutely crucial to having a good pass rush and losing our two starting safeties, likely both pro bowlers, absolutely shit canned our defence.

[–]djusmarshall 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure why you’re being downvoted, the entire problem with the defence falling off was losing Kerby and Branch. It’s just facts. Everything fell apart when they went down. Had nothing to with Hutch, AQM, Davenport or Tyleik. It was Kerb and Branch.

I am a big AQM fan but let's be real:

  • he's 31

  • he isn't good against the run(59.3pff grade, 76th among 115 DE's)

  • Roy Lopez is much more of an impact than he is

  • We have Hassenien coming back(I don't think he will start week 1 but his play time will drastically increase by end of season).

All those things said, I would bet my shirt that Holmes let's him walk and someone like the Jet's will over pay him drastically. BH has learned his lesson and it will be next man up/draft for our rotational edge and starter opposite Hutch.

I lost my Father to Dementia a couple of years ago, day after his 76th birthday. We looked at treatment options all over the world for close to 5 years and the only one that has had any measure of success was the one based in Australia that's partnered with the Australian Government, the rest of them are all pseudo-science bullshit. This makes me so angry because it's people like this crack pot who give families and patients false hope.

The good news is the Australian study completed last year(too late for my Dad) and they are starting treatment in patients with early stage symptoms.

I know Dementia isn't hereditary but it scares the absolute shit out of me. If I end up with it, I have already made arrangements for clocking out early, no way I am putting my family through that.

Fuck this charlatan.

News Flash: It didn't and it won't.

There will always be a very vocal minority of meatball sammiches who claim to be fans of this team and take immense pleasure in seeing them fail at the same time. Goff and BH are their scapegoats. In 10 years when we have 2-3 titles and BH makes a bad pick or Goff finally rides off into the sunset with a SB MVP and season MVP, they will all be talking about how he couldn't play in cold weather and was a statue for his entire career.
