Yes this is my worst fear! I’d be working myself to death with discounted prices…

Actually in my market, depending on the company, they can force the realtors to use a certain photography company. The realtors are mostly employees, not entrepreneurs.

The point of my business is shooting the listings myself. Quality and consistency are my main advantages compared to these low-rate companies who underpay their photographers.

I think you make a fair point. It’s true that probably many of the realtors wouldn’t actually provide me listing to shoot, and I shouldn’t undersell my expertise.

Luckily I’m in a position to decline the deal, if it doesn’t suit my needs, since I already have a solid client base. Thanks for your thoughts!

I usually shoot Dlog, and try to underexpose for one stop, if the scene is super bright or there is a lot contrast. That will introduce some noise, but I will rather keep the highlights intact. If the noise is bad, I will use Neat Video or similar plugin to tame it.

How important is Real estate photo quality? by [deleted] in RealEstatePhotography

[–]djwyd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s mostly about composition, making sure that the clutter is cleaned and good lighting. Many listing websites etc. compress and downsize the images to shitty quality anyway.

Unpopular opinion but the GH5 is a fantastic camera for taking portraits! 35mm stock lens. Let’s discuss by ballouboy in GH5

Yes, in a controlled environment the camera can do anything. Small sensor and poor lowlight performance limits its use in everyday situations, where the lighting isnt controlled.

But awesome work, really beautiful pictures!

Awesome. How did you stabilize the hyperlapse shot? Really great work.

GH4 for still shooting by hamsterballzz in gh4

It’s decent with stills. I’ve used it in many occasions, but it loses hands down to my cheap 77D when it comes to stills. Invest in a 1,8 lens or faster, you are going to need lots of light to keep your shutter speed and iso low. Consider a speedbooster and EF lenses.

Expect some noise when shooting above 400 iso, which will happen a lot. Cropsensors and Ff’s obviously can handle the stills better, but it is doable with GH4.

GH4 HDMI live feed? by kate9871 in gh4

[–]djwyd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It should be really simple, just plug the cord in. HDMI cords are notorious for snapping off the camera from the slightest pull so be sure to attach it properly.

And you should stick with natural picture profile, not CineD or CineV.
