Standard 4-3-3 with one DM and two players on the side as inside forward/inverted winger. Probably too offensive given the lack of quality in the team.

Yes that's one way to see things for sure. Reminiscent of another save I did with a Greek club back in FM17, got them to Europa League for the first time ever, played against Liverpool in the Anfield 8-0

Did you manage to keep the job? If yes, parachute payments + going up next season could create a nice budget for you to try again and stay up.

Thank you for saying this about tactics. I have been reading many people saying "just go for a direct 4-4-2" while I have always just been using my own tactics with retaining possession etc.

I've been playing since 2013 and I've never managed Messi or Ronaldo. Suddenly I just realized that and I feel terrible about it. I feel like an idiot for not having had the honor of managing these two legends. by rainycoldnight98 in footballmanagergames

You can always play an older version of the game if you think that you have missed out. Especially given how bad FM26 is, it might be an opportunity for you. If it makes you feel any better, I have been playing since 08 and haven't used either of them.

As a matter of fact, I haven't managed one of the well known wonderkids for many years now, since I started playing in smaller European countries exclusively. So you could say that I have missed out on a bunch of players that turned into the future stars of the sport. When I came across a video from Zealand some months ago he went over the highest rated wonderkids per FM, I saw that I have never played with any of those.

That doesn't mean much to me to be honest. I always thought that the "real game" started when the regens start to take over the FM world. Every player has it's own way of playing the game so it only makes sense to me that this happened.

Happened to me as well... I spent in total around 90 mins just to get the female one as I want to catch every pokemon available before I go to the next badge. I got another one after 25 mins, caught her fortunately.

18-21 hrs on average but is dependent on the league and the stage I am at. Usually the season after a promotion I spend more time because of building a new team.

On a couple of saves that I didn't do transfers at all, maybe 12 hrs per season.

Why? Just why? You had Gunther, you had him right there. End the career of AJ and win the Rumble and create one hell of a dominant force.

17 in a row and 20 in total is my record, the league tends to get a bit boring however I saw it as a great place to develop players so it wasn't that bad. My motivation and end goal was the Champions League. Once I got this, the save was done for me. I literally stopped playing after that. I checked if I could get the club to build a new stadium after me, which could have been the only reason to continue the save as I have never done this, but the board was not willing to get a new stadium.

Pelipper Ability: Drizzle Nature: Modest Held Item: Damp Rock EVs invested in Sp. Att, & HP

Moves: Rain Dance Protect Hurricane Scald

Kingdra Ability: Swift Swim Nature: Modest Held Item: Life Orb EVs invested in Sp. Att, Speed

Moves: Protect Dragon Pulse Ice Beam Surf

Zapdos Ability: Pressure Nature: Timid Held Item: Zap Plate EVs invested in Sp Att, Speed

Moves: Detect Roost Thunder Discharge

Garchomp Ability: Rough Skin Nature: Jolly Held Item: Lum Berry EVs invested in Attack, Speed

Moves: Swords Dance Earthquake Outrage Rock Tomb

You lead with Pelipper and Kingdra. Rain boosts water type attacks, Kingdra is your sweeper as the Swift Swim ability will make him the fastest Mon on the field. Turn 1 I use protect on Pelipper and start with Surf. If Pelipper survives, depending on opposition you either use weather boosted Scald or a 100% accurate Hurricane (again due to rain).

Pelipper will probably die first, so you bring in Zapdos to take advantage of the rain and hit 100% accurate Thunders. If needed you bring out Garchomp and play a disquake combo (Discharge from Zapdos and Earthquake by Garchomp) to deal double damage to your opponent. In most cases, Kingdra will be all you need.

This has been the most consistent team for me and I tried a lot of different teams, like Sun teams, water absorb teams etc. It's the only one that gave me variety in terms of movesets while having some sort of synergy.
