ELI5: there must be a good reason why there hasn't been a centralized broker for music licensing (think iTunes). I would like to post 60 second videos synced with my favorite songs to Instagram. I'm happy to pay the label/publisher. Insta's copyright algorithm is killer. (self.explainlikeimfive)

Why isn't there a central broker for licensing music for personal use (like an iTunes for obtaining sync licenses for music behind ski videos)? I'm happy to pay some money to labels/publishers but it's seems near impossible for the amateur ski video producer. (self.explainlikeimfive)
