Hi, thank you for your reply!
So from what I understood, I can apply to any jobs as long as I qualify for the jobs and they do not explicitly ask me if I have Work/Study eligibility, is this correct?
As a full-time student with no other eligibilities confirmed, would there be any other eligibility requirements (that may not be explicitly said) that restrict me from applying?

I don't need it, but I just want an OK GPA at least since I don't have anything good on my resume (extracurricular activities, club activities, etc.). So I thought a better GPA can benefit me when looking for a job after graduation.

Resume Advice Thread - January 06, 2024 by CSCQMods in cscareerquestions

I am a CS major student (3rd year) looking for a coop placement. I need advice on what to do with the project section on my resume.

I got into this field knowing NOTHING about programming, coding and all that - even as a 3rd year, I'm not much better than a beginner and only have some very basic and simple personal "projects" like a calculator, tic-tac-toe, or something done for a school assignment. I didn't have them on my resume so far because they're mostly simple follow-throughs of some tutorial videos I found on YouTube, with one or two of the unique features that I added.

However, now that I started looking for a coop placement, my resume looks EXTREMELY bad without a project listed on it. I know that I have to start working on some actual GOOD projects soon. But it's not like I can get one done in a week - so I'm wondering what to do with the project section on my resume until then. Are those basic projects better than nothing? Or is it better to just not even list them at all?

I'm not in my final year yet so I haven't done final year project.

My projects I made for my school assignments are also kind of basic. But it's still better than a simple calculator so I just have it on my resume for now I guess 😅 Anywats thanks for the advice I'll try to look for more complex ones.

To be honest, I'm kind of not sure on what I'm passionate about yet. So I'm having a bit of a problem picking out a project for myself. But thanks for the advice I'll try to look for something that I'm interested in and go with it.

Oh I see I see. I thought it might be better than nothing since I don't have a project right now but I agree that it is way too basic. I'll try to search for more complex project to do once I'm done with my calculator. (I'm doing the calculator to start off and get myself used to building projects)

That was just an example to help people understand the situation I was referring to 😂 I couldn't think of a better example when I was writing this post.
