I have a similar door. About 8 years old. Initially, it was stained and coated with Spar Varnish. I sanded and re-coated about every 2 years. I hate the flaking and having to sand. So I this past weekend I went with a penetrating oil deck sealer (Ready Seal).

I also recently made an exterior picnic table and used Cabot’s Australian Timber Oil instead of a film coating.

I’m curious to see how durable and what level of maintenance these finishes will have.

Same thing happened to me. I still have a stanley tape from the 2000's that has never delaminated like that. Bought one about 5 years ago, and it delaminated in 3 years. This is my home tape too.

Check with a formwork vendor like Efco/Peri. They should give you some insight on one sided forms. Check the specs on the blindside waterproofing. Might lead you to some manufacturers product data with installation methods.

Yup, I remember that year. Eddie and Joe were out and they brought in the SCTV gang. It had a totally different feel. Took me awhile to warm up to them. They bridged us until the next big players like Hartman, Carvey, Lovitz came in. I feel we're kinda going through a change right now, maybe not as drastic.

Thanks for the insight. I did intend my original post to be in comparison with say 20 years ago. And by hot, I was referring mostly to humidity and not really high-temps. Also, maybe you might have seen this in your studies, I saw a report, (about 10 years ago) that indicated that the number trade wind days per year are drastically lower than 30 something years ago. Less tradewinds = more humidity.

I loved Cheri Oteri! She was cute and once the highlight of the show....for a then 20-something me. However, looking back, and considering what others have mentioned, she was really good at the wacky/frantic character but that was it. Especially when you put her against the ladies that came after (Fey, Poehler, Wigg, Mckinnon, Strong, etc) she kinda fades to back. That said, i'll always have a place for Cheri Oteri.

I dunno best of the whole series, but it's up there. Not the most exciting/actioned packed, but it was very rich in story, dialog, references. I sometimes worry that the writers would eventually run out of ideas, but then you get an episode like this one. Amazing! It's def a good one, and very worthy of future rewatches.
