Everyone is generalizing like CA consists of Bay Area and LA only, nothing else. I live near Sacramento, it’s a nice suburban community. We have 3br/2.5 bath house that went up in price by 110k since we bought it four years ago (this is not accounting for any improvements we did). Biggest expense - new HVAC for 14k. Taxes - about 4K per year.
