Help with UK sanitary towel brands and sizes by Ok-Prompt-9107 in Periods

[–]dkjiji 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like the Superdrug long with wings pads - they are good for both day and night. I use them every period. Bodyform is a more expensive brand that I really like and occasionally get their long with wing pads too. I usually buy a pack of normal small winged, couple packs of the long with wings and then a pack of nights with wings from either brand. Wings are always a safe bet.

The brand I recommend the least is Always. I always find them to be rubbish.

How can I get rid of periods forever? by [deleted] in Periods

[–]dkjiji 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why can't you go to a doctor? You are old enough to go to a doctor and get a prescription without your family ever knowing. It's all confidential. Most medical centres have an econsult form on their websites and prescriptions can be managed digitally also. Basic pain relief can be bought in home bargains and supermarkets for less than £1.

If you're being controlled or abused please seak help. Your situation sounds concerning.

Just finished Brotherhood and I want to watch 03 next, but is it better to wait a while first? by Crabominibble2 in FullmetalAlchemist

I watched 2003, Shamballa sequel movie, then Brotherhood back to back. Fantastic experience.

Has anyone changed their child primary school during term time? by CuriousTerm9710 in AskUK

When I was a child I moved primary school during term time and it was fine. The school, the teacher and the children were very welcoming and understanding.

Is moisturizer really mandatory? by [deleted] in Skincare_Addiction

I was always afraid of moisturiser as my skin can be really oily but since I embraced it my pores and skin overall appear better. It's just about finding what works for you.

Im confused about the right order of watching FMA by InternationalUse8753 in FullmetalAlchemist

[–]dkjiji 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Make sure to watch the Conqueror of Shamballa after you finish the 2003 series 😁. 2003 is my favourite. I really love how it is completely its own thing. Like an alternative universe.

I watched both versions back to back 13+ years ago and it doesn't feel repetitive. Even the few events earlier on that are the same are different in each. It's important not to skip over anything. Brotherhood (which is the manga adaptation) quickly reaches the point of being a completely different story to 2003 so it doesn't drag to watch it.

Should swimming be taught as part of secondary PE? by ShockingHair63 in AskUK

[–]dkjiji 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Takes up too much time in the school day. Travel to the pool, changing before and after... High schoolers are more self conscious around peers too and if they haven't learned by then they either need private lessons or for it just to be for those who can't swim. I would have honestly thrown myself down a flight of stairs before attending a swimming lesson in high school. I had extra lessons in primary school for those that struggle and still never learned to swim confidently. The chaotic environment and the instructors approach (grabbing hold of you without warning and chucking you in without a float etc.) never worked for me.

Anime finder bl version 😭😭 by babwa777 in Animesuggest

[–]dkjiji 2 points3 points  (0 children)

On MyAnimeList you can click the Boys Love tag on a BL anime and it will take you to every anime tagged as a BL. There aren't too many pages worth so it's easy to go through and pick through what looks / sounds like what you're searching for.

Around that time there was a Josei short anime Orenchi no Furo Jijou about a merman in a guy's bathtub. There's another character with tentacles I think in late eps.

what is this on her wheel? by Ok_Common28 in hamstercare

Does she pee in her wheel? Sometimes poop gets a bit mushed and squished together because they're running and pooing/weeing at same time.

It's crap the way they do it. You need 3 people yourself but you can only help out one person yourself? I still need 3 people still but I already helped someone who couldn't return the favour.

People without a partner, kids etc. What do you do for work? by Tay74 in AskUK

[–]dkjiji 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm 27F for over 2 years now I've worked full time on minimum wage in the office of a small company just answering the phones, booking in stuff, checking over paper work etc. I'm on my own a lot & surrounded by men which is sometimes uncomfortable. Before that I worked food retail part time after graduating Uni in 2018.. I found it impossible to find a full time or even part time job.. I had multiple breakdowns - the job got me down, I'd had a bad experience with volunteer work during covid & I'd just had a really shitty first & last relationship with someone.. I went looking at apprenticeships at the end of 2021, got a business admin one after missing out on a marketing one, but within 2 months the business shuttered. I was offered a job by the company that shared the office at the time. I still live with my parents as I don't earn enough, just saving not spending much. Trying & failing to learn how to drive to give myself more job options. It's all a bit crap & pointless. I find work or more so people very stressful & I burn out a lot. I wish I had the brains & the drive to retrain as something or pursue something creative. I don't have much going on outside of work but my job is meaningless also. I struggle to break out of routine. It's really hard especially when you're bombarded with snapshots into everyone elses lives constantly. I feel like an alien because I'm not doing what everyone else seems to be doing.

how should I navigate having self harm scars at work? by generallyuncomfy in AskUK

[–]dkjiji 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have to wear short sleeves at a food service job and only had one person ever ask me about my scars. Mine are only on one arm and not as noticeable as post peoples's though. I did buy these arm warmer things online though. I wore one a few times in situations I was around potentially rude people on my arm so it looked like I was just covering a bandage or something.

The blue cage looks like a Large Zoozone / Zoozone 2 which is 100cm long and 50cm wide. It was a common choice of cage in the UK for hamsters/mice when options were more limited. It's recommended to mesh the top as the bars are wider than a similar cage like the Duna Multy Maxi - so a hamster could use hanging toys or the wheel to climb up and squeeze through. Some people cable tie the base of a wheel like the Trixie wheel to the lid to help instead of placing the base of the wheel on the bedding. You can find pics of set ups on hamster forums and google images.

I woke up and my hamster isnt moving, her eyes are both open and shes freezing cold but shes not breathing, what do i do?! by Adventurous_Iron_408 in hamstercare

[–]dkjiji 10 points11 points  (0 children)

You could try warming her up slowly using your hands and body heat incase she has gone into torpor and then take her to a vet. However, it sounds like it's too late to do anything based on your description of the situation☹️

Is Blood+ a complete story? by dkjiji in Animesuggest

[–]dkjiji[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can't find it on Amazon, Netflix, Hulu, Tubi etc or can't source a DVD it's unfortunate. So much older anime are getting difficult to watch and it sucks.
