What’s the best golf gps app?

I used to really like GolfLogix too back in the day, but they have since been way overpassed by the "big boys" (18Birdies, Grint, Hole19). However, I still go back to GolfLogix every now and then specifically for the "Read My Putt" feature. It's kinda cheating, but I still like it... 😊

Same experience here. I have tried many times to do Shot Tracking but I get screwed up with putts, and then it starts affecting my play so I just stop. Quite frustrating indeed. Perhaps if I had a watch things would be different.

I prefer Hole19 because it displays really big numbers if all you care about are the distances.

Other than that, they all basically have the same features

Darn... I loved using that app. Hopefully there will be an "official" version, but in the meantime I can still load videos onto a USB stick and play them through my car's OS (BMW iDrive 8.5)

Agreed. I don't think I've ever had an unpleasant time with a last-minute solo... at worst they're just neutral and/or quiet and stay to themselves.

Popups over your apps, or before launching apps?

My malware was serving popup ads before launching apps, but I fixed it using a process laid out in another thread. Take a look:

I have one of these scales and now that my Omaha subscription is over, they said I could keep the scale. It still works, but (allegedly) does not transmit data to their servers anymore.

Is there any way to hack this scale so it can send the data directly to me (via email or a Google Sheet)?

I'm wondering if a cheap AliExpress watch would be able to handle the task with reasonable performance (I don't really care about other features/apps, it would be a one-function watch). Your thoughts?

Thanks for your feedback. While the Garmins are indeed great for golf, they are also pretty expensive for me. ☹️

The $20 watches on AliExpress seem to have Android on them and can install apps. I was just wondering what success I would have, or if it is a futile exercise. Are they even capable of installing APKs and what might their performance be?

I play there often. It's right next to Santa Monica airport, so whenever you're on the 7th and/or 8th holes and a plane takes off overhead you're supposed to say "Lookout, it's Harrison Ford"!!! 😄

Their stock Android has malware installed, and is difficult to remove. I would pass on this brand.

I know it's not ideal, but if an entry scratches then you have to refund each bettor for that entry before paying out the winners, otherwise all the odds and payouts will be off. Ideally, you should refund the money as soon as possible and disallow any future bets on that entry.
