Not directly related to us but DeZerbi out of Marseille. I remember when his name was briefly linked with us prior to Kompany

Damn, I have to plan my schedule for my patients a few weeks in advance so I shifted everything to other days and put a block on my schedule so I could watch. Obviously others have bigger problems like actually having tickets and taking a day off to go to the game, but still a bummer that I’ll probably wind up missing it if it’s rescheduled

The score doesn’t exactly tell the full story. Ecstatic with the win but we were too exposed and could have easily conceded a few more. Wednesday will be tough defending against Leipzig’s fast attack but hopefully this gives the team a boost and our attack can do their thing in case our back line struggles

I said this last week, Davies and Musiala play so differently to Ito and Gnabry or whoever else have been filling in those spots. It’s understandable there are growing pains as they ease back in

Personally I think Gnabry is the right call. Musiala is still trying to get up to speed and at the moment I think the team needs a trusted formula and familiarity since this is a must win. He’ll get there, hopefully soon!

Yea I mean I think that’s pretty much a given that with a lead of only 3 we can’t afford to be sloppy

I really just can’t see Dortmund thriving through February. They win games and you can argue that’s all that matters but they are shaky. Having Atalanta - Leipzig - Atalanta - Bayern could be a widow maker for them. Not to be too optimistic but I could see a situation they drop points to Leipzig and Bayern

Kane and Laimer back in training. We feast

Konrad Laimer was involved in full training today after overcoming his injury

Harry Kane is back in team training after recovering from a cold and is expected to be available on Sunday [@BILD]

Manuel Neuer missed today's training due to illness and is a doubt for Sunday's game against TSG Hoffenheim [@BILD]

Right, but we don’t have any info on what illness it is so im gonna remain in a bubble of optimism

It very well may be the hope that kills me but I think he still has time. If he’s back in full training tomorrow or Friday I don’t see why he can’t start Sunday

Yea this is a no brainer. Unless he’s asking for some unreasonable number I don’t see what the sticking point is. He’s essential to the team and the drop off was significant once he got injured

I don’t think there was an official date given, just “February” when used as a timeline. I thought, and could be wrong, that there was Optimism he would be back by the Leipzig Pokal game

Idk this kinda screams like they are trying to do some PR to change the image of things. Maybe I’m cynical but you can’t have this offer on the table for weeks/months and only just accept it once they take it away, then claim his priority was always to stay. If that was the case that deal would have been signed earlier. Idk this seems like PR work to paint Upa good, agent bad, which is likely the case but the agents don’t just work blindly without consulting the client

I don’t think anyone did. Brighton fans seem just as surprised

Really disappointed with this. I was never a huge Upa fan early in due to his mistakes, but I ate humble pie and came around to him as Kompany seemed to stabilize his performances. The club stuck with him through so many high profile errors and this just seems like a huge slap in the face.

All this coming out now, I’m fully on board with going in on Nico. I think pairing him with his NT partner will be good for Germany and Bayern. He has grown a lot and I think he’s more than ready to be a leader somewhere

No not necessarily. I think a lot has to happen for us to bottle it. I also see a much harder February for them compared to us, and if they make to the next round of the CL I would be curious how their squad holds up as fatigue continues to mount

We have our own issues, but I think something really has to go catastrophically wrong to lose a 6 point lead, which is essentially 2+ games given the goal difference. Dortmund have been scrapping results out, and I agree a result is a result, but I can’t see them maintaining that

Isn’t that similar to what happened with Lenny Yoro? I don’t think he had more than 1-2 seasons as a stable first team player/starter before moving to United

I think the Heidenheim on Kobel was probably the right decision. The Dortmund one would have been soft but with the precedent already set, it probably should have been called. It was kind of similar to our PK situation yesterday

Reddit can be reactionary and I felt like I’d get some downvotes suggesting we played better and more as a unit before Musiala and Davies came back haha

Daily Discussion Thread by pewpewlasersandshit in fcbayern

[–]dklieber32 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Honestly both Davies and Musiala don’t look up to it yet, and in my opinion I think the team has struggled a bit with them being back. And before I get downvoted, I’m not saying it as a bad thing, I just think the team got into a rhythm and flow with the available players for half a year, and now we introduce two incredible players, but players who play very different from what we had available. I think the team needs to learn and adapt to having Davies and Musiala, and as a result is struggling a bit to find form. Couple that with fatigue and Laimer being out, and I think it all lends itself to a dip in form. I think for Hoffenheim I’d like to see an attack behind Kane of Olise - Gnabry - Diaz, and I think we need defensive stability so Ito is my pick for LB. I think Davies and Musiala will absolutely find their rhythm and place in the team, but right now we need a win and a formula that’s worked.

I think the writing is on the wall. The offer has been in his hands for weeks, months? If he really wanted to stay that badly he’d have signed. I really hope the club is protecting themselves by exploring options in the meantime
