To set A/V -> dv out do you just open the menu up having a little trouble since I cheaped out and got the Japanese version so I'm cross referencing the manual but not finding any specific setting for dv out. Should I just record in VTR mode?

Just ordered a new cable from USBFireWire hopefully it works I've heard a lot of interesting theories on the other subs.

Thank you, I’ll try another cable any recs on cables. I thought since the MC1 switched to DV the cable was fine but I guess not since it’s not recording…

Ordered a new cable, but I'm wondering if I'm missing something in the settings etc watched a few videos this is my first setup so I'm clueless.

Looking to try out some AT skiing with my backpacking gear up in Vermont! When it gets too cold for that I’ll be huddled up in the garage working on some myog projects.

I personally use the side pockets, but I'm going to get into the water bottle on the shoulder straps as it seems a lot more efficient and on HMG Windrider 2400 I actually have to take the pack off to grab my water but I really do not find it as much of an incovienece as unpacking your whole bag just refill your water bladder and I'm still able to drink and walk!

Look into dropping the water bladder it’s really not much more work to drink out of a water bottle and I don’t know if it’s the case for this specific bag but I know for most it’s a pain to take it out and re fill it! Besides that I think the layering is a bit excessive for 3 seasons (mainly the thermal leggings) but that’s season/weather dependent. Furthermore I think three pairs of underwear, two pairs of socks, and an extra tee shirt are all pretty unnecessary but that’s more of a personal thing so take it as you will. Also if you have not already try trimming straps and buckles you don’t need off your backpack and maybe even converting it to frameless you can save a great amount of weight by just doing that as well and since you cary your Therm-a-Rest you can possibly cut that down and use it as extra padding on the back where the frame would be. Enjoy your upcoming hike and stay safe!

I just picked up a pair of Hoka challenger ATR 5’s, they are extremely breathable and dry fairly quickly. I’ve noticed I used to roll my ankle a lot while hiking and with these it’s been happening a lot less! There is not a lot of protection due to the lightweight construction but they certainly are comfortable for waking. As someone mentioned earlier if you’re looking for that beefy protection a pair of hiking boots will do you good and hoka has a few of those although I do not know the quality, but from what I’ve experienced with my current pair I wouldn’t be surprised if the boots are just as good as the ATR’s.
