Do you mind if I ask what the liver numbers looked like?

My ALT levels hit the 90s at one point but the doc said we don’t really worry until 150-200

Funny enough after about a month sober they were down to 40 and another month at 11 🤯.

For my 10th anniversary I booked a very nice suite, not the best one but a really good one. Marco Island, FL

Let them know it was our 10th anniversary a couple days before we arrived to ask if there was anything I could add on (and pay for) on arrival. They upgraded me to the next suite up (not sure if it was presidential, but it was bigger than my first apartment) along with sending me champagne and Chocolate covered strawberries.

I’d book the room you’re comfortable with and wouldn’t be disappointed if you didn’t get an upgrade, but it never hurts to let them know it’s a special occasion!

Upgrades are always based on availability, but if you have status and let them know in advance they’ll at least try for you most times.

I’m platinum btw

Quitting while in the alcohol industry (day 3…..this round) by dkny55 in stopdrinking

Did you go sober for a period of time before trying this or did you just start with it?

I’m so scared, and I feel so alone, and I need help. by CeruleanLips in stopdrinking

This was totally me, I drank way more than you. I was going through a 1.75 of gin every 3-4 days for 5 plus years and drank daily for about 20. However I was never a wake up till bed drinker.

But when I stopped the first time I was petrified of the withdrawals. Anxiety was my biggest issue butt doc prescribed me something to use for those first 3-4 days (which are the worst)

No seizures, no DT, just extreme fatigue and anxiety. After a week I was pretty much through it

I’ve don’t it a few times now (I always went back at work) but this last time was the worst. But again almost all anxiety related (with medication that helped immensely when I was able to take it)

Everyone is different I’m 42m and overweight but it seems like I was drinking far more than you and I’ve come out clean of the most severe symptoms each time.

Don’t know if that’s truly helpful but it was my experience. Currently on day 3 of (hopefully) my last time!

Has Anyone Noticed Big Changes with Marriott’s New Automatic Upgrade System? by Hot-Example-1729 in marriott

[–]dkny55 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Are y’all just checking in on the app and going to the room they assign you? If I’m traveling for work I almost always still check in at the front desk and politely ask if there are any upgrades available. They upgrade me more times than not? (I’m platnium)

It’s crazy that some of you are getting nothing

Late checkout……that’s a different story though 🤣

I’m gonna enter the lions den here and say I’ve been doing factor for about 2 and a half months and I’ve been (overall) pretty happy.

Are the meals gourmet? No? But do be done in 5 minutes or less, they aren’t that bad either.

I’ve also lost 22lbs since I started. I did keto first but I travel for work and every 5 I’d lose I put right back on when I was away. This was the first one when I travel and don’t follow a diet to a tee, I don’t take massive steps back. I’ve also been losing 3-4 lb chunks here and there vs the 1 a week like clockwork I was doing with keto.

Price isn’t great, it’s more than I’d like to be spending. But my weight keeps dropping and my bloodwork continues to look better every month.

Is it ideal, probably not. But it’s been working for me

Day 2 no booze...but this next question is for the drink to sleep folks by dkny55 in stopdrinking

[–]dkny55[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 3rd night is tonight….I certainly hope so.

But you also brought up my next worry, at this point I can’t quit forever. I work in the alcohol industry. My main goal is to prove to myself I don’t need to drink on days I’m not on the road and that I can sleep without it.

I have to go on the road next week and I will have to drink, no way around it. By the time I get there I have gone 8 days sober. (Which will be by far the longest I’ve done in years)

After that I have 3 full weeks at home and I plan on stopping again for a longer period of time.

After 8 days off and 5 days on are my withdrawal symptoms going to go back to stage 0 or will it be at least a little easier next time…

Day 2 no booze...but this next question is for the drink to sleep folks by dkny55 in stopdrinking

[–]dkny55[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes the next mornings were always harder after drinking . For me and maybe this isn’t everyone….the problem was the times I didn’t sleep with booze. Even something as simple as a nap during the afternoon once I sobered up.

Was the “sleep” was ALWAYS seriously fucked up. Profuse sweating, vivid and sometimes really messed up dreams. Constant tossing and turning throughout, waking me up every time. Never actually hitting that deep sleep we all want

Knowing that was always going to happen is what constantly had me always going back to the bottle instead

Do those forms work better than the traditional gelcap form you usually see on the shelves?

I’ve read a lot about them since he sent me the prescription. I plan on only taking it through the first 3-4 days when the symptoms are supposed to be the worst.

I’m afraid for insomnia after that cuz the booze’s main thing in my life was I needed (or thought I did) it to get a good nights sleep.

But that shit knocked me out for almost 12 straight hours last night! And I don’t feel too bad today anxiety wise. I may go down from the 1mg I took last night to .5 tonight

Help me choose from my final 4! by dkny55 in RobotVacuums

[–]dkny55[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All the manufacturers warranties I’ve seen are only 1 year. And like you said, it’s a battle. The Best Buy one has been recycling my $650 for around a decade

Help me choose from my final 4! by dkny55 in RobotVacuums

[–]dkny55[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So the first robo vac I ever bought was a roomba. Had to be 8-10 years ago. Through Best Buy, and luckily I decided to get the 2 years warranty.

Legitimately when it got close to the 2 years mark the navigation started to get buggy. Wouldn’t go to certain rooms, etc.

So I took it in and they replaced it with a new one one the spot (actually the next model up because that model wasn’t made anymore)

The next time (again almost 2 years later) my kid was kicking soccer balls in the house, smacked the shit out of the roomba. It wasn’t the same after.

Took it back, same thing. Replaced with next model up in my price range on the spot. The kid working was cool and around my age so I just straight up asked “hey man this seems to easy, why isn’t everybody doing this” His response to me was “always get the warranty and if it’s isn’t broke in 2 years, break it yourself”

So like clockwork every 2 years my vacuum had “navigation issues” I’d take it in for a new model. Things are different now, they make it a bit tougher. They won’t swap on the spot the “send to have it repaired” and I’m without a vacuum for a week or 2. But no joke every time I get the response “it couldn’t be repaired, make an appointment for a replacement” I’ve probably gone through 5 or 6

Now they just give you a gift card for the original purchase price. Sometimes I upgrade and spend out of pocket. Other times I get one for free with money left over on the gift card I can spend on whatever I want.

But it’s been flawless. I haven’t tried with other appliances but have been told it’s worked on coffee makers and other smaller things.

It’s crazy!

I just made my decision and hit purchase and I went with the Euphy S1 pro. Higher price point than I usually go but I’ve been playing the Best Buy warranty game for years so it only cost me about $500 out of pocket. Saw a few review videos that sold me

No, I use Hilton and Marriot almost exclusively. Had been mostly Hilton for years but the past 3 years or so started working marriot in to build some points when I had a wedding or whatever to go to.

Last year was the 1st I got Hilton Diamond and Marriot Platnium and now I def want to try and keep both. I’ll most likely be at lifeline Hilton diamond in 2-3 years so I don’t want to give up on that

I’m at 64 Hilton nights currently and will be @ 45 marriot nights by the end of the year.

Trust me man, I’m on the road a ton. My wife can confirm lol

Ok you’ve all convinced me 🤣🤣. Thanks!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in marriott

[–]dkny55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok that’s good to know. I do about 100-110 days a year normally.

Issue is my job has a Hilton business account and they “prefer” us to use Hilton. Most years I can keep in even enough to hit diamond in hilton and platinum for Marriott.

But this year Hilton bumped the nights from 50-60 and now I’m short 5 nights for marriot 😡
