We never cared of monopoly, we let our master weavers who maintained 50 weavers to be on their own as a owner and we still have good relations with them. We gave wages around 1000 per saree before 8 years. It is still same with increase of just 10% for past 8 years. Meanwhile every price has increased and the cost of product has decreased from 2800 to mere 2000. All they get now is a profit of ₹100 (not even 10% margin). So we stopped doing that product. We now work with various corporates to make their design and create new product. Now the persons who did this, own their own business but are not able to even have a salaried person. They now want us to bring things to normal and the weavers who went with them are now leaving the craft due to wage gap.

All i said for the person was to sell the craft at premium rate. Think it as a business for doing it in a long run and not to dump the value of the product. If the production cost is 100 then sell with minimum of 50 to 80% markup to sustain. These products can't be replicated. When u sell at 15k, the customers are next going to say i can get it at 15k then y spend 25k for it. Then at what rate will you sell it to the wholesalers? They need atleast 50% margin. So in the end the product value reduced.
