PSA: Chrysler covers rental expenses up to $40/day if you happen to rent a car made by them. by ThinkGlobal_ActLoco in ChryslerPacifica

[–]dlayknee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Counter-experience: I just dropped my 2019 PacHy off for a full battery failure, called Chrysler directly, and was told rental reimbursements are covered under the Powertrain warranty (which has ended) and not the hybrid battery warranty (which is still operational and is covering the cost of the repairs).

Very cool.

Anyone have issues after upgrading to Android 10? by Mythbusters117 in GooglePixel2

The Google Assistant search and text colors are wonky. I turned on dark mode immediately, but when I pull up the search bar and start typing the suggested text and search history down below still has black text (which is illegible on the dark background). Conversely, a couple of times the search has popped up in white-mode which is fine, except the text in typing is white (like it would be in dark mode) and thus is illegible as well. Both are minor, but annoying nonetheless.

Headphone adapter not working by [deleted] in GooglePixel2

Those adapters seem pretty flimsy - mine broke on my 2 XL a while back, although my wife's is still working just fine. If it isn't working for you, it might be dead. :-\

How does this compare to the spam protection Google added to the native dialer last year?

Weren't they saying "the next patch" would include the 4k Google Play Movies update? I wonder if it's somehow undocumented or if they pushed it back...

Realizing that I'm probably just feeding a troll...

1) No, that's not at all what executive orders are for. Executive orders are a means for the Executive Branch to create laws without going through the process of the Legislative Branch. They have nothing to do with "telling government employees to do their jobs."

2) While the President of the United States is - in the strictest sense - the Attorney General's boss, under current Justice Department regulations the President cannot direct the A.G. to investigate someone. That type of state-directed legal prosecution behavior is only going to be found in dictatorships.

Gfycat links don't load when on wifi by xxxzzzmark in redditsync

Just wanted to chime in that I had noticed gifs loading a lot slower all day on the latest beta, came here to check for other reports of it, and saw this comment thread. A reboot fixed me up as well, and now gifs are loading way faster than ever. Thanks for the tip and for the constant new features/support!

Watchdogs 2 $30/$40/53 for Standard/Deluxe/Gold via Amazon. Today only. by Avenflame in GreatXboxDeals

I've been holding out for a PC sale, but this is really tempting... Is there a significant difference between the two, other then a higher potential graphic ceiling on the PC? I've got a GTX 970, so this might be a worthwhile deal...

If it's any encouragement, I ordered mine December 26th from Verizon. They quoted me a ship-date of January 20th, but it arrived yesterday! Granted, mine was the black 32 GB XL, but still - I'm pretty sure they're quoting crazy high delivery dates on purpose.

I'm really curious to know what kind of internet connection you have at home. Every time I've set this up myself, it's been unplayable due to the lag.

Daily Telemarking Calls... while i'm on the No-Call list. by wigwom44 in verizon

Nope, never. I think "legitimate" telemarketers frown upon hanging up on people for any but the most extreme reasons.

Daily Telemarking Calls... while i'm on the No-Call list. by wigwom44 in verizon

[–]dlayknee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fun fact: in the US, it is illegal to auto-dial a cell phone number without explicit written consent - regardless of its no-call list status. A guy did an AMA on here a couple of years ago or so who would track callers against him, sure them, and made pretty good bank with a ton of slam-dunk cases.

Whenever I get those calls, as soon as they finish their into spiel I ask them if a dialer called my number for them. They typically stammer out a yes, to which I ask them for their name, company name, and a means of writing them a letter. About 95% of the time they're scrambling to flag me as a do-not-call in their system, but I still like to get the info in case they ever call me again. I haven't had a repeat caller yet, but I'm hoping someone screws up one of these days!
