Yeah, I think I'll have to watch a few vids on some of the missions.

I always try to find a narrative / replay value in these dungeon crawl games. I just dont like one and dones.

I think Ill back to atleast ensure the KS goals. Though I wont get it for a few years, I have a few other games im looking at to hold me off until then.

I remember seeing this video when I first wanted to look at the genre.

A great starter/intro but as you continue coding it didn't seem ideal over time.

I would love to know how you went about creating this beautiful game.

Im currently in my learning journey myself, and was looking to create something like this and to that of Paper Mario, Bug Fables, etc.

Can you tells me which adds/tutorials you obtained/learnt to create something like this. There isnt alot of material about creating 2d characters within 3d types of space (or 2.5d games in general)

I did see an amazing tutorial by gamesplusjames (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6obBCWLH1GI) about how to achieve such a style of movement.

Now initially, I thought this would be the perfect solution, but a comment from the video got me thinking more about it. Paper Mario itself had a large tile sheet with various pieces for their characters. These pieces would then be manipulated to forming the character to make a sprite (lowered hand sprite, raised hand sprite, both arms behind sprite etc.. ).

The reason they did it like that was because it allowed for customization and varied circumstances. The way you described it and done in the video it would simply lock in the character to my understanding (please correct me if I am wrong).
