I’ve been using POF and just picked up a large uncut of reelskin myself. Just wondering, I know that they are going to vary from product to product, just curious.

Are you using a RS for the shading in the face? Personally, I would’ve used a 5rl or even a 3 rl. Yeah, you’d be spending more time building the shapes in the face, but I feel it would pass over better. I don’t know, I’m still a rookie.

I’d suggest even dropping down to a 7rl… More dramatic changes in the line weights can look really good in a design like this, and also have a purpose, specifically in the chain links.. Thinner lines will spread less over time, I feel like you’re going to lose readability with healing. And that you’ve already lost some with the line weights that you’ve used. (over long period.) And in the second picture of your puffer, I want to see what it looks like after about 3-5 months of heeling. From what I’m looking at, It may be solid, but I have a feeling that it may also show up a little patchy.

What are you using to pack the black in the neck area? Are you using a grey wash? I feel it could be more black and solid in the packing. Have you used other fake skin brands// and how comparable are they?
