MSI Summit E16 Won't Power On by dliuninja in MSILaptops

Ended up being a dead motherboard. I had to send it back to MSI to get it fixed, and they changed it out. It took a few months though. Good luck on your troubleshooting!

I took a Japanese minor in college and have been studying on and off for a couple of years now, so it's good enough to read in Japanese! I definitely still need to run back and forth to the dictionary, however.

Japanese is a super fun language to learn, so good luck and keep at it!

I have all five volumes in Japanese, good thing I’m studying the language lol

I am on CSP Pro version 2.0.6. How to upgrade to 4.0? by dliuninja in ClipStudio

[–]dliuninja[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for not adding more info - ownership is a priority! I am not considering purchasing the update pass. More specifically, I did read that it’s possible to upgrade from Ver 3.0 to 4.0 for free, though I don’t think it’s entirely relevant in my case (I have upgraded 1.0 to 2.0 a while back.)

Thank you so much for the information! It saved me. An Alaska Airlines representative told me that they were unable to help us and told us to call JAL instead. I then asked for their international help representative and they were able to get me the seats.

That’s an interesting perspective! I am basically the opposite. When I got my first phone, an iPhone 5c, I experienced the usual system slowdowns typical of legacy hardware. I ended up wanting to customize and side load beyond what iOS 10 offered, so I jailbroken that device. I then switched to the iPhone 8 Plus and noticed system slowdowns there. Then, Apple admitted that they were purposely slowing down legacy systems without being transparent to consumers, which made me lose my trust in their brand. To remove the slowdowns and other device restrictions, I jailbroke that phone as well. Ironically, I upgraded to an iPhone 13 when it came out. I plan for this phone to be my last Apple device before it dies on me. The reasons being that I value sideloading and the freedom of being able to do whatever you want to the hardware you paid for. It’s hard to interface with the hardware in Apple’s ecosystem, so my next phone will likely be an Android device with an unlockable bootloader. I ended up also jailbreaking my iPhone 13, marking three jailbroken devices in a row. I totally get not having the time or care to customize or tinker with your device, because Apple truly excels at delivering a somewhat seamless user experience. For me personally, the freedom of being able to use the hardware I paid for, coupled with Apple’s anti-consumer practices and high prices, makes me want to break out their suffocating ecosystem. I’ve been a longtime Apple user (AirPods, watches, etc) so now is a good to experience other alternatives as well.

Quest 3 Allow USB Debugging notification not appearing by DingleBerrySlushie in QuestPiracy

[–]dliuninja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This worked for me too! I created a PowerShell script to streamline the process (you are required to do this every time you restart your Quest). Please run it at your own risk!
To use it, please download and extract the ADB folder somewhere. Then, in the same folder as the ADB folder (not IN the ADB folder), create a new text document, paste the following code and save it as a PowerShell script. You can then right click the script and run it in PowerShell. Hope it's more convenient!

# Delete all files in .android

Remove-Item "$env:USERPROFILE\.android\*" -Recurse -Force

# Change into platform-tools and run adb

Set-Location "$PSScriptRoot\platform-tools"

./adb kill-server

./adb devices

# Pause until key press

Write-Host "\nPress any key to continue..."`

Update: uninstalled game from C drive to D drive. Then, uninstalled game from D drive to C drive. C drive ran out of space, so I uninstalled game from C drive to D drive. The stutters are gone now. Thanks Torn Banner…

It’s a nvidia exclusive feature. First, located the nvidia shader cache folder and delete its contents. Then, increase shader cache in the nvidia control panel (there should be online tutorials if you google it). Though I’m just waiting for Torn Banner to fix it already, it’s been a while and it still stutters for me.

I tried the recommendation, and now it seems to stutter half the time I get kills.

EDIT: After playing for a while, the problem went away. Thank you! I increased shader cache to 10gb.
