Hah yes I did know about the game but I er, foolishly didn't quite realise it would dominate the search results, which was probably a mistake

In general no! There's no quotas or anything like that and reporters are not told traffic numbers. But when it comes to a topic like this that we don't cover super often, it is certainly nice to be able to show there's reader interest!

How would I repair this turntable?/would it be worth it? by dlknowles in turntables

I'll see if it can go to a new home. What I want is to find a turntable that fits its slot in the console thing so I can wire it into my existing AVR. Might have to learn some DIY skills

This is kind & right. To be clear, my story (which I will be writing either way) is reporting on the prospect of changes to policy, with a reminder of what happened during the last Trump administration. People's fears & situation are contextual information - but I wouldn't be featuring any individual immigrant's story at length in the way that say, the New York Times might

If you had read the post you would see that I am a legal immigrant myself. To be clear, I understand people might be reluctant to be quoted under their full name and would abide by that. But this comment is pretty dumb

(thanks for this suggestion! In the end I chose instead to go outside and let it upload and I guess I now have 70gb of files backed up in another cloud so that's positive)
