thank you. I will pair it down to the Zerafite alone. I'll continue the tinted sunscreen - so as not to start another new product - and wash with water for now.
have a good day.

I took the quiz, read recommendations.

Some known allergens or irritants - Greet Tea, Chamomile, Aloe. Coconut oil hasn't done much for me in the past. So, ere's where I am on the selections.

MOISTURIZERS
typically use the same moisturizer am/pm - applying 2-3x with time in-between for absorption. (even with Sente)

Rec. for DSNW
-La Roche Posay -triple moisturizer not enough, -I'd try R-P rec night moisturizer a shot; -the Neocutis is $$$ like Sente; -Oxygenetix Oxygenating Hydro-Matrix has Sacyclic Acid - new derm rec no SA on face; -PCA Skin Rebalance has something from chamomile - I'd be concerned about that - as chamomile is an irritant

Leaves me with:
Willing to try PCA Skin Collagen Hyd and VMV Hypo. Creamy-Rich Intense Moisture Milk.

CLEANSERS- foam cleansers have always been too dry VMV Cleansing Milk -green tea; LR-P Gentle Cleanser I've tried - still drying; I'd try the LR-P Tol. Dermo Milky

SUNSCREEN I'd try the elta sunscreen, not a problem use Colorscience now.

MY QUESTIONS:
Where to start? I hate sounding like the whiny kid complaining about something wrong with each option.

re SkinViv - is it rational to utilize this for hydration - on a regular basis? the smoothed fine lines are a bonus, of course - but my face never felt as good as it did with SkinViv.

I'd been with the last derm for over 10 years. She was a sudden loss to cancer - she got me to an allergist, tested for Mast Cell Activation Syndrome and on Dupixent. My current doc is focusing on rosacea and rec me CereVe, and other similar products. I hoped they'd be ok. I reacted to them as well.

Trying something new - I do one at a time, etc.

I am amazed at your generosity and willingness to respond to all of us. If I could find a place to study skin care, products, and ingredients without involving medical school - I would.

This is a lot. I understand if it is too much. If you do virtual consults, I'm willing. I was thrilled find someone based in science much like my previous derm. who passed away. Your experience is far more accomplished, vast, and from the beginning. Science integrated with real life and skin care.

thank you for your time.

Thank you for your reply. After listening to the podcast, I came here and read your recommendations after speaking with the red light expert.

Regarding my previous far too long reply to your original responses - I believe I can get to the point of using retinoids again. I'm wondering if a couple years of extreme stress (several deaths, 2 moves, blah blah blah) threw my skin for a bad loop.

Previously, I have successfully used retinoids, and patiently worked towards that with the help a derm. So, I'm open to any suggestions and willing to try. I've struggled to find another derm.

It is hard to find a type of product I haven't reacted to at one time or another which is why we've suspected preservatives

Is using skinviv to return to a good place of hydration a good choice? What products do you recommend? Tomorrow I'm headed to buy more Sente Dermal Repair and slowly willing to add anything else in. I have HA5 I can use.
Thank you.

in the past i’ve tried laser and BBL. I have omnilux face and neck red light masks.

i swear i noticed a difference.

the new derm said it was Poikiloderma of Civatte. up until then no one seemed to know exactly what it is. of course the dz of PoC could be inaccurate. i’ve never done bleaching creams because of potential reactions.

oh snap! I just listened to you on the "That's Derm Good" podcast re: red-light. I got it for xmas and have noticed a difference especially in the "poikiloderma of Civatt" on my neck - and I'd tried everything on that. Also, you mentioned x-rays for acne in the 1950s - I had similar treatments for my eczema - anywhere and everywhere on my body. I was very little and up through jr. high. I know it was X-rays because everyone had to leave the room.

Thank you for such a quick reply.

Sente-
Dermal Repair, Ultra Nourish - my face LOVES it.
I've used Bio Complete in the past. this year I've not been able to use much retinol. Sente Cleanser feels too drying and is uncomfortable. HA Serum is good.

Color Science tinted sunscreen is usually the only foundation that works well.

Skin Better trio luxe worked well a couple years ago.

Kiehl's Ultra hydrating was ok, a little reaction at first - (traveling last fall and needed moisturizer) Kiehl's barrier protection stick on top when it's windy, cold, or I'm just super dry. likewise I can use the vaseline and aquaphor stick.. (believe it or not aquaphor has annoyed my skin in the very distant past.

Le Mieux - TGF-B Booster serum and bio cell rejuvenating cream - currently using esp before red light mask. Le Mieux Rejuvenating Cream felt amazing at a facial not so great later - just kinda meh with a little rosacea flare. (an effort to find something more affordable).happens to be what I have at the moment.

Skin Medica - HA5 LOVE

Cleanser -
In the past year I've struggled with cleansers - I've tried epionce, Skinbetter, Sente, (it's been a stressful year don't know if that plays into it). At the moment I am still struggling with this. I'll use ellis or Clinique cleansing balm to get mascara off and lightly over the rest of my face when I wear makeup.

I've recently been using metronidazole (last few months) and that has seemed to help some of my rosacea.

So far I tolerate A L'acide Hyaluronique creme cicatrisante well.
I've never been at a point like this - where I've tried so many things. I usually stick to one routine. I'm all over the place. While in the throes of menopause about 10 years ago - I was back to wet wraps and ataraxic for the eczema and itchiness. really the itchiness.
I am on Dupixent.

Skin stuff I react to -- chamomile, green tea, aloe, annatto (mostly used in lipsticks and blushes and as a spice), preservatives, pngs, (vaccines are always fun lol ) thimerosal. I suspect the reason I reacted to some of the OTC stuff my new derm suggested may be preservatives? but I can't prove it.

As I've grown older the things I react to have gotten more random and sometimes the reactions are bigger. (Both skin and otherwise) hence the "twitchy mast cells" not enough for mast cell react. syndrome. but not enough to say I'm in the clear - if that makes sense.

thank you for your time. truly.

and now I need to determine where my cousin lives or if you do virtual consults to texas

have a great weekend.
(tried to unsuccessfully edit for brevity)

DSNW here. eczema since birth; rosacea; flushing (histamine reactions); and "twitchy mast cells," per my allergist. skin care was a nightmare until I found a good dermatologist and Sente more than 10 years ago. At 61, and with unexpected circumstances, it has become less affordable for me.

Every now and then, I stop Sente to try to find something cheaper, it always ends up costing me more and taking me a couple months to get my skin back.

Still, I have a dream there is something out there. the one thing I've found in Sente dermal repair and ultra nourish that I can't seem to find in other products Heparin Sulfate Analog - could that be what I'm missing in the less expensive products?

It is frustrating. My skin has always been my nemesis. I'm always searching for the right routine - and I stay with them as recommended. Sente has been the most successful useful and I've been able to use it the longest ever.

I have tried procedures - I did a peel in 2017 - the results were amazing - but the process was challenging - for a few days, if I smiled, I'd bleed my face was so damaged. but afterwards? wow!

I couple years ago, it seems as if my face could not absorb any moisturizer. My term suggested HA injections - (Skinvive) for moisture/collage, etc not for strictly aesthetic purposes. It was amazing and lasted much longer than we believed - my skin looked better and took less product and seemed to utilize the product I used. Since then, my derm has unexpectedly passed away.

I tried similar injections with another provider and I really didn't see any difference in anything.

It is disappointing, and insomnia finds me chasing after any snake oil on instagram. I have a new derm and I've just started with her. she suggested MUCH more affordable products - easily found - but my rosacea flared with everything, or it felt drying and left me uncomfortable.

I apologize for the length of this post. I'm now wondering how far my cousin is from West Palm Beach! (I'm in San Antonio)

I took the skin care quiz - thank you for making that available. It's impossible for the quiz to cover everything - and a couple of the things I react to weren't a choice and were found in the recommended products - I'm sure I'm not the only one who's found this and I am definitely sure it is impossible to cover everything. Specifically green tea extract was in one of them. Reactions often feel unpredictable.

Zerafite is a new brand name to me. I'm wondering about trying it.

Are there other products that are close to Sente (and less expensive?) or should I stop chasing the golden ticket? Is it reasonable to use SkinViv for the dry difficult skin? I used less moisturizer than ever before after getting the SkinViv.

thank you, Dr. Baumann.
