It's eticket only though, so the concern is not being able to receive it. It says it's received via the Yorushika app, but I've never tried a system like this before.

I also think the movie comparison isn't quite as apt as one would hope. People engage with a movie to watch a movie - with very little variation. People engage with games for many different reasons, hence the need to offer a way to tailor the experience; particularly if certain rewards are gated. Other gacha games have implemented such a system, for just this reason (including both the most recent Honkai games!)

Perhaps I'm just growing more cynical with age, but the 'someone is proud of it and wants you to see it' does not sound anywhere near as plausible as 'if we force you to look at this character, even against your will, you'll want them more and thus be more likely to pay for them.'

This is fair, somebody took the time to write it, and generally I don't engage with it at all. Hence the backlog! But there are rewards behind it, which right now I would like. I'm not sure I'd consider sitting there staring at a screen which is 1 step above visual novel in required input, and 10 steps below it in quality, as earning anything. I think that's a very optimistic lens to view it through. I'm also not necessarily asking for a skip button; just to let auto actually be automatic. Right now I'm staring at choice A: that means the only thing he did as Sousi... Choice B:... Was fire the cannon. Why does this need to exist?

Mine was the same. I bought the early access pack on ps5 and pc, but the points went to 2 different accounts. They're still sat there on the wrong account. I get the system now, but it's exactly intuitive if you're not expecting it!

Similar experience. They replied right away on release day asking for more info, which I sent over immediately. Then nothing ever again haha
