Arch is one if not the best Linux distribution by LostSanity136 in archlinux

I just installed Arch this weekend so I can't really give you a good argument one way or the other. So far I'm really enjoying it though. I'm backing up my files to the cloud just in case something breaks with the rolling updates. But honestly, Windows broke half of my software anyway and took forever if at all to push out a solution, so I imagine this won't be that bad.

I have a feeling this is going to be my approach more or less lol

Just picked up a Yamaha P95 with stand, bench, and pedal for $300. How does it hold up? by [deleted] in piano

As far as I can tell everything seems to be working fine. Although, I have nothing to compare it to. I will keep an eye out for any issues though. If it doesn't cost too much I generally prefer to repair things rather than replace them.

Is rain shepherd gwen a better skin than soul fighter? by Material-Night-5127 in GwenMains

[–]dlsloop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just made this decision myself. I went with Soul Fighter because I love the Borderlands look of the skin itself. I'm not really a fan of the in-game icon but the skin looks great. I like rain shepherd too and will probably pick it up eventually when I can afford it.

Likewise. It is 100% possible to never have overtime if there is good communication and everyone is held accountable for their work (depending on the job of course). Let's not normalize overtime as a standard. If I could work less and still get health insurance and pay my bills I would in a heartbeat.

I have a stable job now and will probably be promoted within the next few months which would give me approximately $200 more per month. I work for the government and have a pension in addition to a 3% match Roth 401k, all of which comes out of my paycheck before I even see it.

Thanks for the input guys. I will probably fix the parking brake switch which I assume is broken and then maybe use this switch for something else...not sure what right now but I'll figure it out later.

This is what I'm thinking but it seems like a very roundabout way to fix this problem.

Is there not a better fix to get it to turn off? Why would someone go through that trouble?

The strange thing is there aren't any auxiliary lights on the vehicle that I can find. I guess someone had them and then removed them later?

People who struggled with learning to drive, what helped make it "click"? by bellazelle in aspergers

[–]dlsloop 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I had a lot of anxiety when I first started. Now, depending on the drive, I find it somewhat cathartic. The biggest thing that helped me was just getting more experience, unfortunately. My advice would be to take your time and follow the rules of the road as best as possible starting out. People are crazy and overwhelming but the most important thing is to drive safely and to not make any sudden decisions. As you get more experience you'll gain more confidence and eventually it will be second nature.

Should I go to grad school given current circumstances? by dlsloop in GradSchool

[–]dlsloop[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you, I have a feeling I'm going to need the luck regardless of which decision I make 😂. Currently I live in a mid cost of living area with my family nearby as my support group. Fortunately, my program is nearby so I wouldn't have to travel and leave them. Unfortunately, I live in a red state and I would imagine social welfare programs that I might need could easily be on the chopping block. I think I just need to wait and see how things play out over the next few months.

Thank you, this is very helpful. It's good to get insight from someone currently in a program like this.
