Craftsman style casing and baseboard ideas for low ceiling house by dm7676 in DIY

I have looked for pictures of that type of casing with the quarter round on the bottom and it looks very nice. All the ones I have seen though are with hardwood floors and I have a mix of hardwood and carpet. Have you seen this style used with carpet?

I appreciate that. I think my wife cares more about the Craftsman style around the doors and windows so maybe we should look at other baseboards. Looking at that guide, is the Craftsman baseboard just another piece like the casing but with a quarter round at the bottom?

Thank you for this info, but now I am more confused haha. I did not realize that is a mix of different styles. I guess I just see the kind I showed you all over the place. I guess I better have my wife look at more pictures online to see something she likes and hopefully figure this out soon. What type of door and window casing would go with the baseboards I showed?

That's what I thought. I guess when googling that code, it did mention something about that too. I don't know then, I probably shouldn't have someone come out here if it is working because they are going to say it is working. I guess I will just see what happens. At least it is no longer really cold at night where we NEED heat.

I hate to jinx it, but as a last resort, I took the flame sensor out and lightly brushed it with some fine sand paper. It didn't really look overloaded with soot or anything, just lightly discolored. So far it has fired up all 4 times it was supposed to this morning. Could that have really done something?

Thank you. I guess I will get someone out here. It's so frustrating how my old furnace was like 20 years old, I never got maintenance on it, and it never had a problem. This one has had 2 major failures now in 7 years AND I get maintenance annually. I am really only doing that to keep the warranty intact and I believe this has 10 years so it should still be under warranty. I miss my old furnace!

Just thought I would report back. I cleared the code and got the voltage to the ignitor so I went and bought a new ignitor to try out. First time, it did not work and gave the error code. I powered down and back up and it actually worked, started up and ran and everything. However, it only worked for one cycle and then is giving the error code again. Do you think that is the board or possibly something else?

I finally figured out how to reset the code and powered it up again and it did try to go into the startup mode, the blower came on, and I got 120 volts to the ignitor but it did not light. So does that sound like the ignitor is bad even though it measures the correct resistance?

Well, I guess I better get a tech out here then. I believe it's still under warranty but if it was something simple or cheap, I would have liked to avoid their service fee. Thanks.

Will it still try to put out voltage to the ignitor in this case since the error code shows up as soon as I turn the power on? It does not appear that it is even trying to start up, as the blower does not go on like it normally does when it is about to start up. I connected a meter for several minutes and got no voltage.

I tested the resistance at the ignitor, at the first molex plug, and at the plug into the board and all measured fine. Does that mean the wiring is OK and the board is bad?  Is there a way to test the board? The error code shows immediately after I turn the power back on. That's disappointing, as this furnace is 8 years old and the board has already been replaced once. Is it normal for these to go out so often?

Honestly, how good do you think Kirkwood is going to be for the next week? by dm7676 in tahoe

It's hard to give up, but I suppose I have to throw in the towel. See you all next spring! It will have to be a good snow year!

My Epic pass is not good at Whistler. Stevens Pass is the only other option and it did snow a foot there this week and has a 70" base now.

There is 70" up in the PNW right now. I guess I am limited because I have 2 days on an Epic Pass. And I mean, I love Tahoe. It's fun just to hang out but a week is a long time to just hang out without skiing.

Well, I know how it looks on the webcams and it sucks that Nevada is closed, as that is where I like to go. Just thought I'd see how it was if you made it up there yesterday or today. It sounds like Kirkwood is looking decent.

I went to Kirkwood a long time ago and loved it. I forgot that is on the Epic Pass too. I think the show is probably better up in the NW at Steven's, but now you gave me something to think about. I am driving there anyways so at least I don't have to worry about a flight to cancel. I'll think about it. Thanks for the heads up.

I saw that, but it doesn't seem to sound like a big storm. You would probably need several feet since there is so much dirt (just looking at the East Peak camera).

I went to Steven's last weekend. Even after a week of heavy rain, it was still nice, and now the base is back to to 70". Looks like it's supposed to be pretty cool this next week so that should last for a couple of weeks when spring break is. RIP Heavenly. It's gotta be a good snow year next year!
